Located just 10 minutes from La Roque Gageac the Château de Castelnaud is a medieval fortress in the commune of Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, overlooking the Dordogne River in Périgord, southern France. Weapon museum is very interesting. This was the stronghold for the English in the 100 year war.

Located just 10 minutes from La Roque Gageac the Château de Castelnaud is a medieval fortress in the commune of Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, overlooking the Dordogne River in Périgord, southern France. Weapon museum is very interesting. This was the stronghold for the English in the 100 year war.
This 12th Century fortress, one of the most authentic and well-conserved in the region, offers its visitors from the heights of the medieval keep, a magnificent view over the valley of five castles. Lascaux is the setting of a complex of caves near the village of Montignac, in the department of Dordogne in southwestern France. Over 600 parietal wall paintings cover the interior walls and ceilings of the cave. Duplication of the original drawings (to preserve the originals) make an impressive visit don't miss the museum as well.
