Downtown Houston can be skipped in my opinion. There are a few good dining options but it requires a lot of walking for not much of a return. I would suggest walking along Buffalo Bayou for a better Houston skyline experience.

Traveler advice

Getting around

Light Rail (Train)

Check the map included in the photos. The train is a 3 minute walk from the apartment complex. This is a simple way to cross the Medical Center as well as reach Rice University, Herman Park, Museum District, and Downtown Houston.
Don't miss

Herman Park

There are a few gardens within Herman Park that should not be missed. There are also events/concerts within Herman Park that are freely open to the public.
Getting around

Uber Stop

There is an Uber sign on the street immediately outside of the entrance of the apartment complex on the street.
Getting around

Lock Bicycle

Throughout Houston, people try to steal bicycles - even when locked. If you plan on using a bicycle to get around, I would suggest bring a high quality U-lock. Thieves typically only try to steal bicycles using a flexible or chain lock. Bicycles can be stored on our balcony during your stay if you are not comfortable with locking it outside overnight.
Don't miss

Houston Dining

Solid dining options in Houston! I typically go for health food options, chicken and waffles, BBQ, tacos, Mexican, Chinese, Indian.
