Neighbourhoods

My favourite neighbourhoods around Darlinghurst.
Darlinghurst is a funky, high-energy area with cafes, sleek restaurants and swank cocktail bars. Oxford Street has popular nightclubs and bars, while around Crown Street area you’ll find record stores and offbeat vintage fashion stores. There’s a big arts scene here with many art galleries, independent theatres and some live music venues - that draw the party crowd.

Beautiful people sip lattes up on Crown Street & couples wander arm in arm, down treelined streets and admire the beautiful shopfronts. A style and fashion hub, Surry Hills is a sprawling inner city suburb that’s full of interesting streets, cafes, restaurants and bars

With the introduction of the lockout laws, Kings Cross became safer and more civilised and the young well-to-do crowd moved in.

Not too long ago Redfern was a place you’d exercise caution when going to, but now it’s one of Sydney’s trendiest suburbs. There remains however, a clear distinction between the have’s and the have nots. There are many cool bars and coffee shops around but Redfern Park is a must see.

Entertainment & Nightlife

Clubs Bars Cinemas
The Golden Age Cinema and Bar is located in the stunning Art Deco Paramount Pictures building on Commonwealth Street, Surry Hills. It screens both classic and new release films and the adjoining bar offers fine wines and cinema snacks – expect the best sundaes ever.

Popular with the locals, the Lord Dudley is a Classic old English pub located on the border between Woolara and Paddington. It was here that Les Darcy met my grandfather’s sister before they were married. Space is limited and the restaurant and bistro book out quickly.

Shopping

Suck in those cheekbones darling it’s time to see and be seen. Oxford street Paddington offers some of Sydney’s best fashion and homewares shopping.
A 5 minute walk from the property and your at the bottom end of Oxford Street Paddington. Walk up the hill towards Bondi and you’ll pass plenty of fashion stores, cafes and some great pubs.
