One of my favorite restaurants in the neighborhood. Always a great scene and the food is high-quality and consistently delicious. Meals are moderate to expensive. In nice weather, sit outside!!

Decent quality food with good drinks. This 24/7 upscale diner has everything. Moderately priced. The staff is sometimes cold, unfriendly, and full of themselves; but hey, you're in NYC!

No frills, eat-in or take out NY pizza joint. You can get delivery or take-out by the slice or a whole pie. My favorite is the "Grandma Slice." Great inexpensive, quick food option.

Good coffee, though I prefer The Grey Dog. This is a bit closer to the apartment however. The staff is sometimes ... well ... grumpy. :-)

Yummy Italian food. Ask to be seated in the back room. They also have a lounge that is accessible on 20th Street just west of 7th Ave. Great drinks and good atmosphere.

Not my favorite grocery store, but it's VERY close to the apartment and it's convenient if you need milk and orange juice. It's overpriced and feels dingy. Go to Trader Joe's if you can.
