A local favorite, stop by to get a coffee or breakfast on your way to a hike or beach. The ride on Topanga Canyon Blvd is beautiful and this unique cozy local cafe completes it. The employees are really nice, the vibe is relaxed, may locals come daily with their laptops to work from this shop. Topanga locals are known for their friendliness, don't be surprised if anyone strikes a conversation with you while you are here :) and take advantage of any tips they might offer!

Sightseeing

Family-friendly easy hike with gorgeous views to Santa Monica and beyond as well as Malibu. Know by locals as the labyrinth due to the rock spiral at the top. It is tradition to "walk the labyrinth" once you reach the top. Drive through the city of Topanga and stop to get coffee and breakfast at Topanga Living Cafe.

The Griffith Observatory can fit into all categories if the weather allows, I recommend parking your car at the bottom and hike up to the observatory. You can avoid the parking madness by using the suttle to reach the top. Great views of LA and the Hollywood Sign.

Zuma beach is a classic. Often seen in movies and tv shows as it is a recurrent film location. Get in the paid parking or walk all the way to the cliff point (Point Dume beach) where the famous final scene of "Planet of the Apes" 1968 was filmed. You can relax at the beach and take a small hike walk up to the top of the cliff for a better view. Little local secret... for the intrepid ones if you cross the over the rocks you'll reach a more private beach ;) (No lifeguard on this site, watch the tide so you don't get stuck and be cautious.) For that are traveling off-season, please be aware that the pacific ocean and its currents are dangerous even for very experienced swimmers. Please, be careful and don't take unnecessary risks.
