The Rapaki track is one of many tracks in and around Christchurch. It starts around 10 minute walk from our place and heads through the Port Hills towards Banks Peninsula. Once the tops are reached, you can either turn around or extend your walk by heading to the top of the Gondola, the Bridle Path or towards the sign of the Kiwi. Depending on your decision the track takes between 1 and a half hours to 5. You could make it a day trip and head all the way to Sumner or the Halswell Quarry if you wanted to. (This would be around 15-25km in total)

Turanga is the central library but its so much more than a library! Especially for little ones its a great place to visit. It has pools full of Lego, Duplo, wooden toys, different costumes to try on, an indoor slight with a hidden fairy park underneath and of course lots and lots of amazing books. A must visit place especially on rainy days

Willowbank is a local zoo/petting zoo. Its not the cheapest place to go (If you are around for longer its definitely worth to buy a year pass) but an awesome experience. You can feed and pet lots of animals and even see a Kiwi bird in real life! If you are lucky you may also be around for a Haka dance (Native Maori fighting dance) which locals present there occasionally.

Akaroa is around 1 and a half hours away from our place and a perfect spot for a day trip (You can easily spend lots more time though!) Its a cute little french town with great bays and beautiful little shops. Its also the perfect place to go swimming with dolphins, or borrowing a surf or paddle board to explore the bays. There are also some seals you can see from a spot just outside of Akaroa. Talk to us for more details :)
