This is one of the best coffee shops I've ever been to. Coffee is fantastic and great selection of home baked goodies. In the winter the fireplace is always burning - nice, cosy atmosphere.

This a short, scenic hike right in the Banff townsite. If you only have one day to explore Banff - this is a great hike that will still allow plenty of time to wander around the townsite and get a nice lunch or dinner in. The trail has lots of gental switchbacks to the summit and offers great vistas. Usually hiking time is 40 to 60 minutes to the summit.

A great ridge hike in Kananaskis that is less travelled than many of the more touristy hikes near Banff. First kilometer to the get up on the ridge is the steepest part of the trail, which afterwards follows the ridge to several peaks. You can make your way to the furthest peak (probably about 2 - 3 hours one way ) or turn around at any point to descend the same route. Great 360 views from the ridge.

A 5 km walk along a gravel road followed by a 30 minute slog up will get you to a very cool ice cave. Or, to forego the boring walk up the road, hop on your bikes and get to the trailhead in 15 - 20 minutes. Bring a lock to lock your bikes to a tree. Also, make sure to bring a good headlamp and a warm jacket - the ice formations in the cave remain all summer and it is chilly in there - but sure feels great on a hot day!

A spectacular, moderate hike overlooking Lake Louise. Although the first part of this hike up past Lake Agnes Tea House will likely be very busy any day of the week in the summer months, once you veer off the main trail between the tea house and Little Bee Hive, the crowd will thin out considerably as this is where the real hiking begins. Even though this hike is in the heart of the very touristy Lake Louise area - it doesn't seem to be one of the mainstream hikes in the area.
