Bondi Beach is everything you want it to be. It has everything (including all the crowds on a sunny day!). You can walk (or skate) around with bare feet, salty hair and no make up (my fav look), or get dressed up, put on that favourite outfit and head to one of the bars for a more upmarket night (or day out). If you like being outdoors, in the ocean, near the ocean, fantastic scenery, great bars, and cafes, then you'll love Bondi. Take public transport where possible (great links to/from Bondi Junction) because the traffic and the parking on sunny days can be a little busy.

Sydney is beautiful, safe, fun, adventurous, and much much more. My top tips are; 1. walk over the Sydney Harbour Bridge - or under it - or up it! (Tip: if you don't want to climb the bridge (which is highly recommended, excuse the pun) then you can go up the Tower Pylon - http://www.pylonlookout.com.au/ - for a fraction of the price ($19 for adults) - and get similar views and height. 2. Sydney Opera House - walk around the Opera House to view the beautiful harbour. Take in a show - they have much more than opera - or join a tour of the opera house. 3. Royal Botanic Gardens - www.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au/ - definitely worth a walk around, a photo or two (hundred) and there are often events on too. The outdoor cinema there is stunning as you get to experience sunset over the harbour before the movie starts. 4. Bars, restaurants, cafes - there are too many to name and the Time Out/ Urban List guides/ Good Food Guides are never wrong. Some of my favourites are Mr Wongs (asian cuisine, can't book, grab a drink in Palmers and Co. whilst you wait for your table), China Lane (asian fusion), Baxters Inn, Frankies Pizza (eat pizza by the slice whilst you play on the pin ball machines).

A smaller, more relaxed version than Bondi, a 2.5km walk along the coastal path you'll find Bronte beach. The beach is smaller than Bondi, but just as popular in the summer, and especially on Sunday mornings with the Nippers. Bronte has an awesome ocean pool which is free to enter, and also free just to look at and take photos of if you don't want to get your feet wet. Cafes line the street back from the beach and all serve your usual coffees, ice creams, burgers, wraps, etc.
