if you consider yourself a beach person and you plan on visiting Zanzibar, Mtende Beach definitely needs to be added to your list. The main section of the beach is situated between two rock formations, in a big cove. It’s absolutely stunning, and one of the coolest places to watch the tides change on the island.

This is a unique opportunity to visit and swim in a cave! Entrance to the cave is $10 USD, which goes to protecting the area. Located in Jambiani village, near Jambiani Plaza and you can get there easily by car. There’s also a cultural centre at the top of the cave, which means you can listen to live music, take cooking classes, or watch bracelets be made as well as visiting the cave.
