Food Scene

These are my favorite places in and around the Redding area, a couple of these are outside of Redding.
Food is good Korean BBQ, Burgers, Counter Service - small dining area or take out- closed Sundays - check on hours for Saturday. Always fresh (Original location in Palo Cedro about 15 minutes from Redding) They have a new location on Lake Blvd in Redding, but the food is not as good as the original in my opinion.

Parks & Nature

About an hour drive through the foothills of the Sierra's to this gorgeous waterfall. This is not Yosemite, but it is a charmer. The hike can be as simple as 200 feet to the lookout from the parking lot - to a 1-2 mile round trip all the way around the falls. We love this spot and if you are extremely adventurous you can swim at the base of the falls. Polar bear club for sure, (ice cold water). Bring a picnic lunch - they have a picnic area. This is a fee areas - I think 8-10 dollars per car.

Lower Sac (ramento) River Fishing

Our Valentine Home is right on the River!! From Redding to Red Bluff, the Lower Sacramento River is one of the most prolific tail-water trout fisheries in the country. The quantity and quality of native trout that swim this mighty river sets it apart from most other trout fisheries in the west. With robust hatches of aquatic insects, to egg laying salmon and fall and winter steelhead, this powerhouse of a trout stream delivers world-class fishing year round.
