There is no sales tax in Oregon. It's a great place to get your mountain-worthy gear with Mountain Supply, REI, Pine Mountain Sports as some standout shops.
Ways to save

Bring your reusable water bottles for our tasty tap water.

Bend has some of the best tap water you can find, having won numerous awards for Best Tasting Water locally and regionally. It also won an Environmental Protection Agency Sustainable Public Health Protection Award.
Don't miss

Thrilling new zip line at Mt. Bachelor open until Oct 2.

Mt. Bachelor zip line launches from top of Pine Marten lift, and drops nearly 1,400 vertical feet over three stages making it the Northwest’s steepest, fastest, and highest-elevation zip adventure. Advance reservations required. Great prep/training at the base. Extra lift ride back to top included.

Chapstick

Bend is dry. By day three you'll have chapped lips. Lube up, even if it's not part of your regular routine at home.
