This is definitely a further drive, but it will be worth it, especially if you have the opportunity to drive by one of the area's many elk herds! The magical canyon, covered in ferns and studded with shafts of sunshine, was one of the filming locations for Jurassic Park. Also, it is near enough to the beach to enjoy some time in the sand and waves as well (if it is warm enough, that is!).

Sightseeing

This is an adventurous way to experience the Scenic Rogue River! Spend a few hours cruising along the Rogue River, spotting bald eagles, blue herons, ospreys, ducks, deer, and more. But be aware, these aren't ordinary boats--they spin 360s and aim to get you wet! It's not just about the scenery, it's about the experience.

An old Chinese mining town, Jacksonville has been in numerous magazines, including Sunset, as one of Oregon's most charming towns. Shop boutiques, taste local wine, eat at restaurants that source their products from local farms and businesses; and in the summer, attend one of Britt Festival's outdoor amphitheater concerts!
