Portovenere is a astonishing town. You can still see the walls and towers, in perfect conditions, that were built to defend the town. There's a castle on the top of the town, it's precise year of construction isn't clear but the first document found that clearly refers to it it's dated 1139. The church that dominates the sea it's a little jewel. There are sea places as well. From Portovenere you can also reach the island of Palmaria with the taxi boat. The island has very nice sea places and a lot of nature, there are footpaths sorrounding all the island and you may meet some selvatic goat, they are very friendly with humans.

The third of the Cinque Terre. Personally my favourite. By car you can park near the town and walk down the center. From the train station you can take the bus to the town (not even 5 minutes i think) and then reach the seaplace walking down some stairs. It's awesome.

The Cinque Terre national park is an incredible place. You can spend on day by the sea and the other walking through the mesmerizing hills, sorrounded by the scent of the mediterranean maquis. There are lot of trails leading to small and secret sea places as well. All the little towns are very precious.
