This zoo is one of the best in the country. What makes it unique is that it's a mountain zoo. There's a lot of walking! It's famous for the giraffes and it's fun to feed them. It's a very nice place to visit and the ticket also gives you access to the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun which is a is a commemorative tower and chapel on Cheyenne Mountain. You have to drive through the zoo to get up there (it's very worth it). The views are incredible.

Manitou is a historic, mountain town with lots of shopping, art galleries, restaurants, bars, ziplines, people watching, etc. But what sets this little town apart is its mineral water. There are many stations with mineral water that you can drink for free. If you stop by the Manitou Springs Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau, they'll give you a free mineral springs brochure with the locations and a sampling cup.
