Happy Hour 4-8. Try the roasted cauliflower, not on menu. Burgers, huge and wonderful... split! Meat loaf? Yep. Delish.

One short block east of the hotel. JFK ate lunch here. It's a step back in time. Sit at the bar stools for some good old-fashioned American breakfast and lunch fare.

The roasted artichokes are worth the trip. Hopefully they will have them when you stop in. Walking distance and also historic, the Royal Poinciana Plaza is getting reinvigorated with Hermes relocation. Bike shop moving here. Rent a cycle and ride the Lake Trail, four miles of exquisite beauty and healthful respite.

Parks & Nature

Public entrance is on Sunrise, one block south of the hotel. Go early in the morning to see the sunrise and shock yourself at the deserted beaches. "AM I IN PALM BEACH?" Yep...just earlybird.

The largest croquet club in the United States is open to the public with free lessons at 10 A.M. on Saturdays. Great wrap around verandah to watch the different types of games as you enjoy the best meals around. Lovely bar. Warm, dedicated staff. Who hasn't played croquet since they were little kids in the back yard? Pick up a mallet and relive your youth! Men and women are equally capable. A sport for those from age 2-122. Chess and pool on a basketball-sized court of green grass. Nature and thinking in one. A beautiful sport. Was once in the Olympics.

Opera, Symphony, Plays. All of that culture you may not have if live in the boondocks. The operas have subtitles, so no fear of Italian confusion!!! TIckets online. A real gem. Close to hotel.
