It look great but you cannot visit because it is operational ....there are I believe two open days in late September worth checking out

It was great learning about the history of the castle. There were some amazing views once you get up there. I loved seeing the crown jewels and the going through all of the history which led to them. Obviously this is a must see while in Edinburgh. There is also a nice place where you can get tea while you are there.
