Out and back. To the Lookout and back is about 5 miles. Steady uphill for the first half mile, then mellows out for a gradual climb through the woods and aspen groves. Stunning view of the mountains and Lake Dillon. Out-and-back.

The trailhead is just to the west of the Buffalo Mountain trailhead, a 5 minute walk from the condo. It's about 3.5 miles round trip and takes you to 2 lakes. It's a mellow trail with some ups and downs.

Very short walk to the lake, but plenty of other trails around this area to explore. Take the trail around the lake, up to the falls, or take Surprise Lake trail nearby.

Park in the lot right off the highway, walk along the bike path, connect with the trail from there. Best to lookup a trail map online, as there are some confusing intersections. Steep up to the top, but only takes about an hour to get up.
