If you don't wish to visit the museum, it's still nice to look at. Also you can visit the garden and have lunch or a drink there. Same architect as Amsterdam Centraal.

If you’re into modern architecture, you should see EYE, film museum and –theatre. On the other side the IJ, you can already see from the back of central station.

A nice biological market (on Saturday), and on the Lindengracht there is a mixture of food, clothes and other stuff. Nice atmosphere, great for tasting food! On Monday mornings vintage market.
