Our favorite winery in the Lyle area (although they are all fantastic). They make a wonderful grunervetliner and delicious red blends. Mostly Rhone varietals which is different than what one will find in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. If you are not a wine club member you MUST make a reservation in advance for a tasting.

Arts & Culture

Amazing, wonderful, weird art museum about 45 minutes east of White Salmon near Goldendale, WA. Founded by a wealthy railroad businessman in the early 20th century, along with some of his bohemian friends. Eclectic collections but best known for regional Native American art and Auguste Rodin sculptures. Also famous for its eclectic chess collections. Drop dead views of the eastern Gorge. A must see!

We adore Dickey Farms. It's a farm store meets a small gourmet store. Lots of local purveyors. Great fresh produce (especially in the summer). Their fresh corn is out of this world. Small but very good selection of cheese, crackers, wine/beer/cider. In late summer you can buy fresh huckleberries.

This is a fave hike that is an easier alternative to nearby Dog Mountain but gives you a similar view and experience. We are not listing Dog Mountain as a fave since it is SO crowded and requires a permit on the weekend to hike. Dog Mountain is best in the Spring for wildflowers. Wind Mountain is great for more of the year since it's not such a commitment. It is steep but doable. Lots of switchbacks.
