This is a super sweet little park is a hidden gem, just a block and a half east of my apartment, and is a great place for a quick dose of quiet, and nature.

The city is doing a nice job fixing up the East River Promenade, and I enjoy beginning here, just south of 20th street, and walking/running along the East River.

I love to walk alongside the Hudson, and recommend beginning at Chelsea Piers, around 22nd Street. You can walk for miles, all the way down to Battery Park, and there are many nice piers along the way

This abandoned elevated railroad tracks-turned-greenspace, is a very popular destination, for good reason: it is beautiful. Multiple entrypoints along 10th Ave, or start at one end, at Gansevoort St.

On a sunny day, skip the subway and take the ferry to Brooklyn! Two stops, and you're at ultra-hip Williamsburg, easy two block walk to the Brooklyn Flea, and waterside parks.

I absolutely love Governor's Island. Ferries leave from Battery Park (easy to get to on the subway from Union Square), no cars, fun activities, lots of nature, hammocks, good food. 'Nuff said.
