Reasonably priced rentals cars and great shuttle service. We are on the other (best) side of the island, so you might consider having a car if you're going for long exploring adventures.

Port Fitzroy is TINY, but has a very cool harbour, good burger shop and is close to amazing waterfalls and bush walks. You need a car (or boat) to get there.

This Google map is showing the terminal in the wrong place. It's a 30 min walk south from Molesworth's, is very scenic walk and has a cool arts and crafts store just before you get to the dock.

Food Scene

Strangely, there is a really good Thai restaurant on a little island off the shore of Auckland. Good food, check the hours and you'll need a car (it's over by the airport).
