Food Scene

Delicious food! We recommend the fish tacos, arroz chaufa, and maduros, but it's all good! The Lumpkin Street location is cash only and BYOB for $2/person. The other location on the east side of Athens takes credit and serves alcohol. These are both kid friendly locations!

If you like pork BBQ, then this is a must try. In addition to their regular hours, they have a great Sunday brunch that we highly recommend. They offer bottomless orange juice, so bring a bottle of champagne if you care to enjoy some mimosas with your Q cakes! Not to mention it's located off of Boulevard in Normal town, which is one of our favorite neighborhoods in Athens!

We spend most Tuesday nights here enjoying $2 half-pours. Look for the geocash by the bar, but make sure you leave something awesome behind for the next person if you find it!

They serve great beer and great food. We like going on Monday nights for $2.50 GA craft brews. They also have trivia on Tuesday nights and are located in Normal Town which is a great place to be for a night out if you want to avoid the college students!

Parks & Nature

Located in Memorial Park. Its a small zoo, which is really more of a refuge for injured North GA animals that couldn't survive in the wild. You can walk through the zoo in about 15 min, but there are some walking trails and a nice pond you can stroll around if you want to extend your visit. There is also a community pool by the zoo, which is great for kids and only $2 to enter.
