Drinks & Nightlife

Such a fun place, located so close to the house. Go for beer, wine and whiskey tastings, listen to live music, and definitely eat at the food trucks. You can sit outside and on cool nights, they fire up the fires to keep you warm!

Great for you and for children. Learn the true history that made Nantucket famous. It's laid out in a way that's interesting for everyone and won't require a day-long stay! Did you know whales were hauled up those cobblestone streets that you walked on?

GREAT beach!! Has restrooms and a walk up place to get food. It's huge but will still be crowded during the season. For less crowds, head to Miacomet Beach.

Sightseeing

This is a long bike ride.......but if you're in shape and adventurous, ride out to Madaket to watch the sun set. There are NO better sunsets anywhere than here!! If you have a car, you can drive but don't get stuck in the sand! Stop at Millies to watch, if you like great fish tacos.

Traveler advice

Useful phrases

Book the ferry early!!

If you are planning to take the ferry to the island during the summer months, make your reservations early!
Getting around

Don’t try to drive!

Unless you like spending half your trip sitting in a car, leave it at home! Ride a bike, walk or use the great bus system!
Useful phrases

COVID-19

Nantucket has been very careful to ensure they keep the island exposure as low as possible. With only 10 ICU beds, they simply can’t handle critically ill patients. If the beds are full, patients are flown to Boston at their own expense. Please please understand this and be respectful. You are asked to self-quarantine for 14 days (except for empty outdoors and grocery shopping). Wear a mask when walking in town or whenever you are within 6 feet of others.
Customs and culture

ACK Nice!

The people of Nantucket are the nicest you will ever meet! Please be patient and kind!! They are severely understaffed and getting upset won’t help. You’re on vacation!! Enjoy the view!
