Spend a day exploring and wandering around Parc Ciutadella, El Borne and El Gotico. The park has a relaxed hippy vibe, then walk into Passeig El Borne and onto the Gotic area. Get lost in the twisty lanes and the old buildings. There are many cafes, bars in this area and so take lots of pit stops to sit, relax, soak up the atmosphere, drink a Cana (small beer), or a cafe con leche and eat some tapas.

4) If you like the Beach, then there's a really good beach city vibe, chirringuitos (beach cafes), volley ball nets around Port Olimpic/ Playa Nova Icaria. The guidebooks will tell you to go to Barceloneta but it's very busy and touristy and Port Olimpica beaches are still busy but more locals. Nearest Metro: Ciutadella Vila Olimpica, then you have to walk around 10mins.
