Absolute best beach in Melbourne. Clean, white, soft sand, crystal blue water. There is an awesome park right on the carpark near the foreshore with BBQ's and toilets. Nice ramped, platform for those unable to access the sand. Chelsea shops are about a 3 minute walk, so you can grab dinner or a coffee and stroll back to the beach/park. 8 minutes from home by car

Amazing staff and a wonderful day out. Some fantastic views from the steam train and some great stop of destinations on the route. Just make sure you plan your journey and the stop-offs you want to see, as there are limited trains through the day. The platforms can get quite smokey from the steam train, but part of the experience. Would definitely recommend! 35 minutes from home by car

Neighbourhoods

Really well designed playground with very attractive landscaping. Toilet facilities, bbq areas and lots of benches and seating for sitting and watching over your kids running around. Facilities for disabled in the playground and toilets. Lots of shade and interesting pathways to explore. The playground/toilets/BBQs etc are in a fenced around area with childproof gates for entry. Point of interest just at the entrance to the playground area is the Antique "Marshalite" rotating clock face style traffic light at the pedestrian crossing in the carpark. Australian designed and built these were what did traffic control before modern style traffic lights. 5 minutes from home walking
