Sightseeing

Part of the Appalachian Trail runs through the Valley. Be sure to check out the huge network of trails from the Narrow Guage Pathway, which follows beside the Carrabassett River. There are gorgeous waterfalls to check out as well. West Mountain Falls, by the Sugarloaf Golf Course, and Poplar Falls. My favorite spots for sure! The Valley is also home to some of Maine's highest peaks!

Traveler advice

Getting around

Parking at Sugarloaf

The Sugarloaf shuttle does pick up at a variety of locations. Honestly, it is easiest to drive and park at the mountain if you're skiing. Whichever lot you park in the shuttle will pick you up! My 'secret spot' to park in is in lot D, as close as I can get to the slope. From there you can walk down to the lift right in front of the Sugarloaf Brewhaus!

Groceries

The best place to buy groceries while in the valley is in Kingfield at Mainly Produce. If you need to pick up a quick something, Ayottes Market or Mountain Grocerers are great spots.

How to find my house!

My house can be challenging to find, as GPS sometimes doesn't believe it's there! Be sure to keep your eyes out for the lit-up spruce tree on the side of route 27!
