Haven't eaten here in years but its a classic old historic English pub with a good garden area. Great stop off if you walk to Beacon Hill.

Pretty impressive with lots to see. They sometimes have special events and exhibitions. I particularly like the medieval mechanical clock with its little knights on horseback.

Woodland

'Beacon Hill Wood is a beech and Scots pine woodland situated on a prominent ridge at the eastern end of the Mendip Hills. The stunning scenery and range of archaeological features make this a fascinating wood to visit Bronze Age burial mounds old quarry pits Roman Roads and a central circular earth bank with a single standing stone are just some of the features to look out for. Springs ponds gullies rides and glades add to the unique landscape and lower parts of the wood are carpeted with bluebells in Spring' https://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/visiting-woods/woods/beacon-hill-wood/ A longish, fairly uphill, very nice walk from the cabin, or there is parking just off road by the gates. You pass the Waggon and Horses too.
