There are a couple ways to do Tumalo Falls! Take Skyliners Road all the way to the falls parking lot, where you can take a very short paved walk to the lower viewing point. There is also a short but steep trail that takes you to a higher viewing point. Looking for more of a hike? Continue up the trail to double falls and beyond, or take the Tumalo Creek Trail from Skyliners to the falls (6.4 miles RT out and back). Parking near the falls is somewhat limited. Go early!

Located from Farewell Bend Park to McKay Park and Miller’s Landing Park and the Bend Whitewater Park, trails exist on both sides of the river and connect to pathways located within the Old Mill District. Once home to two large lumber mills, today the Old Mill District is a mix of parks, trails, shops, restaurants and other businesses. Three footbridges connect trails across the river, providing convenient loops for walking, cycling and more. The trails are great for children on bikes and scooters as the trail is wide, paved, relatively level and completely off the street. Farewell Bend and Riverbend parks provide boat landings for paddlers and floaters using the Deschutes River.

Phil’s Trail is a classic XC mountain biking trail created by Phil Meglasson and others in the 80’s. The trail started out as a single game trail, which Phil stumbled upon one Saturday in 1985 while riding his bike on the 4610 road. Eventually other’s were shown the trail and it became instantly popular. This section of Phil’s was originally called Double-Cut Tree Trail, for a tree halfway up the canyon.
