Food scene

Tacos Toño's is one of sayulita's hidden (and most DELICIOUS) gems! If you follow Calle Pelicanos away from the ocean next to the river, you will find this late night taco joint the first bend of the road on the right! Their Suadero tacos are in...freakin...sane!!! Also did I mention that the tacos are less than $1 USD, their salsa selection is massive, and their fruit waters are wild!

Sayulita’s Sweet Surf

As you may know, the sleepy by day and fiesta till dawn Pueblo of Sayulita is a well known fishing town with the freshest of daily catches right off of the coast. But what you may not know is that Sayulita has one of the BEST surf breaks on the west coast! The Playa Sayulita beach break has both a right and left break where waves can be up to 7M tall as well as a beginner section on the south end of the beach! If you’re a veteran pro or first time surfer, this beach has everything you need to hang ten! For surf lessons and surf trips, reach out to Miguel at Marea Surf School!

Say Goodbye to Foreign Transaction Fees

As a world traveler for the past 6 years, I always ran into hundreds of dollars of foreign transaction fees and not getting the best exchange rates...until I discovered REVOLUT! Top off your card, use the ATM locator, and don't worry about any ATM or foreign transaction fees! I know it may seem strange, but not all countries are alike when it comes to tipping. Below is the tipping structure here in Mexico: 8% - Top Service Lunch 13% - Top Service Dinner 10% - Proper tip amount for typical service. Improper tipping affects the locals here, so save yourself some bucks and help keep the local community content!

The busses are the best ways to travel outside of Sayulita

The bus station can be found on Ave. Revolucion + Calle Coral. The typical cost of a bus ride to the airport (1-ish hour by bus, 45 min by car) is $3.40 USD/$68 MXN). A taxi to the airport averages $40 USD/$800 MXN for comparison. The busses will take you from Puerto Vallarta all the way up to San Blas! They're affordable and pretty quick! TIP: they come every 20 mins, make sure the one you're getting on has AC, if not, hang out, eat a taco or ice cream from the stand next to the station, and grab the next one!
