Lovely for lunch and dinner - please check opening times. There is a car park on Claverton street behind widcombe high street. It is 1.5 miles from the house down a steep hill, we often walk there and get an Uber home.

Visit Sydney gardens and grab a coffee from the holbourne museum or a light lunch. Then take a trip along the canal (access through the gardens) to walk to bathampton. The bathampton mill is good to stop for a drink before walking back (the last part of the walk to the pub is along the road) Or for a shorter walk. Walk along the canal the other way towards widcombe to see some beautiful houses! Stop at the deli in widcombe for coffee!

Amazing views on the bath skyline. You can either do the whole walk or the highlights on the way to town. To walk from the house into the woods that are located on north road (entrance to woods on the zebra crossing opposite shaft road) the most scenic way to get to the zebra crossing is through monkton Combe school which is accessed by leaving the cul de sac, turning left along church road until you get to the end then walk up the drive of the school left towards north road. Don’t walk right into the school it’s self! Once over the crossing and into the woods keep walking straight ahead to access widcombe hill and then walk through bathwick fields. You can access the canal from Sydney buildings. (Foot paths down the side of some of the houses) walk along the canal to either widcombe for coffee or Sydney gardens and the Holborne museum for coffee. For kids access the woods in combe down via the zebra crossing and then when you see a gate on the right head into those woods, (behind the bath clinic) you will reach the fairy trail (fairy doors carved onto the trees) and a wooden play area. After the play area turn left to see cows and sheep that are sometimes in the fields. Turn left again through the fields so that you create a loop back to the zebra crossing.
