Just outside Bräcke along road 323, turn off to get to Sösjö . There is a lookout tower, with a magnificent view, the top of which measures 600 meters above sea level. Will you dare to climb? If so, the reward is a fantastic view of the municipality and the mountains at a distance of over 100 km away. This also shows how clean our air is! BTW: rumor in Bräcke is, that this is the perfect spot for a first date :) Towards Öratjärnsdalen and a walk of about 500 meters there is Kamrisdalen, a fracture zone, where two blocks of rock have moved in different directions, so-called faulting. The gorge in the rock has about 20 meters deep vertical walls, is about 15 meters wide and extends about 100 meters long. Visiting the lookout tower in Sösjö or Kamrisdalen can both be good trips if you only have an hour or two to hike around. You can reach both places from Bräcke town within a 15-minute drive. That will be about 20 minutes from Björknäsgården. So leave your bags at the house and embark on a little adventure! Tip: Both of these places are great for adults and older children.

Östersund is a great little city with restaurants, shops, summer and winter festivals but also a fenomenal museum called Jämtli. If you are interested in culture, this is where you should go. Also, if the weather is not so perfect for out door activities, this is where you can spend a wonderful day sheltered form the rain. Another advantage, on site restaurant and great giftshop. There are also good restaurants around the market square and by the water front, where you will also find a beach, adventure park, summer tivoli and mini golf. It takes about an hour to drive to Östersund along road E14.

Take a walk along the most popular stretch of Gimån & Gimåleden. Park safely at the region's best resting place and summer restaurant Gimåraste, which serves top-class Mexican cuisine and moose burgers! As Gimårasten is just a few hundred meters from Björknäsgården, this is the spot that we recommend you have your first meal. You can follow their facebook for newest dishes on the menu and current opening hours. Their burgers are amazing. The hiking trail that starts at Gimårasten is the perfect trail for a 1-2 hour walk ( 6km ), though the whole trail is about 60km long. The trail stretches along the Gimån forest landscape. Along the first 3 km of the trail there is information about natural and cultural values and can be used as an educational forest. Wind shelters can be found along the trail. Gimån is very popular for fly fishing!
