Barton Marina is a local place to visit. Either by car (10 mins) or you can walk there. ( 1-2hrs). Once there there is a lake to walk around and also the marina has shops, cafes, restaurants and a pub. The Red Carpet Cinema. This is a beautiful small traditional cinema with food and drink facilities. Take a look at their website for more details. Mercia Marina at Willington is also another location which is a must to visit. There are Shops, activities, eating venues and boating trips and hire, or most of all for a beautiful setting just to while away a few relaxing hours. Again, take a look at their website. Once you've enjoyed that visit, there are little pubs dotted along the canal side for you to enjoy too.

Fun for Children

This is a super fun place for children of all ages. Outdoor and indoor fun. Food places and animals to visit. A great all round day out come rain or shine. Situated in Tatenhill, approximately 8 miles from Alrewas. There is also Drayton Manor Theme park just a 20 min drive from us. Fun for all of you to enjoy.

This a short 10/15 car journey away. There are shops cafés and a woodland fairy walk/trail with pigs. Wellies advisable in wet weather.( for humans not the pigs…!)

There are also a range of shops to visit, including some small independent ones. There are also weekly specialist markets and monthly farmers markets on, ideal for you to collect some fresh produce and enjoy back at our lodge.

Alrewas is an ancient village dating back to the doomes day book. There are still properties in the village and surrounding areas from that time. Some are still thatched and add to the attraction of the village. Most walks around Alrewas and to neighbouring areas are on the flat. Locals are very friendly, and more often than not, there will be a friendly hello or good morning/evening as you walk down the road. Alrewas is one of the few villages to still have all of the essential amenities. Local butcher, Co-op, chemist, Post office, Indian restaurant, Chinese takeaway and three pubs. There is also our beautiful church and surroundings & the mill pond to sit and watch the wild life.
