Sightseeing

Excellent fishing, hiking, camping and cross country ski trails. Very quiet...a little busy in July and early Aug. Awesome because it is 10 minutes away from the house

Food scene

Excellent place to fish and hike and paddleboard in summer and ice fish, xcountry ski/snowshoe in winter. Mike rents snowmobiles and guides the 800 square miles on top of the Grand Mesa. Also a little restaurant and store...got categorized under food scene and I can't seem to edit that :)...more like sight seeing

Outdoor Recreation

Of all the places I have skied in Colorado, having grown up here, this is my favorite. Reasonable lift tickets, easy parking, plenty of levels of skiing. The BEST place to teach kids to ski because you can afford it and it is easy to get around. Also, they have THE BEST CHILI IN A 100 MILE RADIUS :)

Traveler advice

Getting around

Beware of Winter driving

On a map, the routes from Cedaredge to Mesa look easy but beware. You go from 5000ish feet altitude in Delta and Grand Junction to almost 11,000 on the top of the Grand Mesa. In nice weather it is breathtaking and lovely . In a Winter storm it can be death defying so know the weather and road conditions before you take highway 65 between Mesa and Cedaredge . If it is snowing you may want to come from Grand Junction/I-70 side up through Mesa.
