Probably the best beach on Whidbey Island. Great for long walks, hanging out in the sand, building driftwood forts, and general enjoyment. Dog owners love the off-leash area. Pick up a pizza from Joe's Wood Fire ovens, and have an easy sunset dinner.

AKA Castle Park, this place has all the toys, trails, and fields. Great skate park and bike park, too.

A little longer of a drive, but less than 30 minutes up the road, you can explore Green Bank and Coupeville, but stop here for lovely gardens all year around. The spring brings kid-designed fairy houses in unexpected places. Great (mile-ish-long) hikes.

An amazing (though pricy) grocery store and fabulous clothing, home goods, gift, browsing store. A Langley classic

Food scene

This is THE place to stop for coffee, lunch, and treats. It has a social mission of job training, and the food is great. We encourage all guests to support this local business.

I'm not sure you'll get a better bagel. Worth stopping here early on your S.W. visit, and pick up a dozen for your stay. BTW, the cabin's toaster has a bagel setting.

Right next to the Bagel Factory. Very casual place, excellent food. Smokey Beast is the best sandwich on the island.

Great view, lovely food, more of a foody place, though when we took our kids there after the longest day of working in the yard, they were treated so well. We celebrate birthdays here, and go when we want a special dinner.

This is the Whidbey pizza I prefer. Call ahead and pick a few up on the way to watch the sunset at Double Bluff.

More than doughnuts, you can get good breakfast/lunch food. Delightful. And great location, next to Farmers Market and delightful Bayview Nursery and Flower House Cafe.
