Such a GORGEOUS building... totally worth a visit inside (and it's en route, as you stroll over to the US Capitol).

If Morning Edition, All Things Considered and NPR's growing list of podcasts are fixtures of your daily and weekly routine... consider taking a tour. If the timing is right, you might be able to catch a Tiny Desk Concert! Full disclosure: I'm a news editor at NPR. If you're a super-fan (or if you simply have questions), let's chat. (NOTE: For obvious reasons, the opportunity to tour has not been available throughout much of 2020 and into 2021. My apologies!)

One of the true anchors of Capitol Hill life. There literally are BOOKS written on this place. So I won't try to capture it here. But it's a definite must.

About two miles south of here... this is a great place to spend a pleasant afternoon. Take a walk along the river (you can even rent a kayak here!)... then stroll over to Nationals Park. The area is teeming with great restaurants -- including DC Winery and Bluejacket Brewery.

This is a lovely spot - and a great place to enjoy good wine and experience the amazing transformation of this long-overlooked slice of DC. (This is NOT a "gentrification" story... 20 years ago, this area was light industrial, with no residential or commercial core.)
