As Borough Market has become busier and bigger many have pushed out into the local area and new markets have sprung up with a more local feel. Maltby Street is one of these and is heaving every weekend with people from far and wide.

The Bermondsey Beer Mile is fast becoming a London institution. Running along the old Victorian railway arches between Tower Bridge and Bermondsey are a series of micro breweries that have an exciting mixture of brews to while away an afternoon among the neighbourhood's hipsters. But make sure you only have one drink in each venue or you won't last to the end!
