Worth the drive to Georgetown and then Low Head, (locals call it Blow Head, as it seems to be a windy spot). The lighthouse has good views from the carpark. On Sundays round midday you can hear the sound the foghorn.

Approx 100m from the cottage studio. Platypus House and Echidna house will let you see platypus underwater and in daylight conditions. The echidnas follow you round, and are so cute. Lots to learn that echidnas and platypus are actually related.

20klms away a pretty little beach, good for a walk on low tide. There is a small store/takeaways there too. It is on the mouth of the Tamar River and Low Head is on the other.

A great maritime museum to visit, and is dominated by the full size replica of the Norfolk. Anyone interested in nautical history would enjoy the Bass and Flinders Centre. It is staffed by volunteers, is wheelchair accessible and has easy to read signage. There's a great little restaurant which has full meals as well as coffee and cake. It is at Georgetown on the other side of the river.

Our local pub. The dining room overlooks the marina. The meals are always good quality and don't keep you waiting too long. In winter their log fire is good.

Great calamari, burgers are pretty good too. You can eat in the park across the road from Chef's Catch and feed the many hungry seagulls chips, or eat inside. They have a large menu of takeaway food and ice cream.
