Traveler advice

Getting around

Use the city rail!

The city rail goes often, usually every 5 and 10 minutes from the city center. The closest stop from here is “Byparken” which is also the first stop. You can take this in primarily the southward direction, and the final stop is the airport. It takes around 20 minutes longer the bus but it is a lot cheaper with a better view.
Getting around

Youth ticket

If you’re between 16 and 20 I really recommend buying the “youth ticket” from Skyss. It lasts for a month and costs 365 NOK. With this you can take as many buses, trains, boats and teams as you want within the Hordaland district. Especially if you’re planning to take the train to a place like Voss for a day (really recommend this) you save a lot of money with this.
Customs and culture

Don’t worry, ask!

Norwegians might seem a little cold but if you ask for directions we will light up and be happy to help:) People are mostly very proficient in english.
What to pack

Rain

I recommend bringing a raincoat or at least buy an umbrella! It rains a lot here.
