The extensive grounds of the Clementinum, one of the largest building complexes in Europe, were built from the mid-16th century to the mid-18th century, originally as a Jesuit dormitory. In its Astronomical Tower, meteorological measurements have been collected since 1775. The most beautiful hall of the complex is the Baroque Library with beautiful frescoes and historically valuable globes. The Mirror Chapel with its richly designed interior and unique installation of mirrors is a place where classical music concerts take place regularly.

Traveler advice

Getting around

Prague public transport - tickets and prices:

Prague has one of the best public transportation systems in all of Europe and you should use it to your advantage as much as possible. While you are on public transportation be sure to keep your manors. If there is an older person that gets on the tram/metro give them your seat. Also, don’t be a loud on public transportation. You’ll notice quickly that when people talk they are quiet or don’t talk at all. you will need a transportation card (should be given by your program) but Prague runs on the honor system.

Will be somewhat hard to find at first, but you will go there so many times and its actually very easy. a must take place for all visitors. Looks much cooler in pictures but is pretty amazing. By week 2 every single girl will have their profile picture or cover photo involving the Lennon Wall it’s one of those things.

Clock

Literally the number one most overatted tourist attraction in the whole entire world. Hundreds of people crowd around it every hour to watch. One of the oldest astronomical clocks in Europe and the entire world. Located in Old Town Square. Every hour on the hour there is a performance. Trumpeteers come out and blow their horn. the clock moves etc. you should see ti once, and then laugh at everyone after that.
Getting around

Airport transport

https://www.transport-in-prague.com/en/ Definetely cheaper than taking taxis. All you had to do was go through that website and reserve a shuttle (fit up to 8 people) It is 780 CZK total, so just give them 800 CZK as a tip. Can reserve the day before so it makes it easy for last minute plans. Also the Airport is about a half hour away. Taxi. Best way is UBER or BOLT. Use app in your phone.
Getting around

Trams and Metro

Trams. Very easy way to get around. This is a honor system, but as CEA students they supply you with monthly passes. Be careful they switch to a night schedule at 10 o’clock. The night tram is really sketchy though so we do not suggest taking it unless you are in a group. Always have your tram pass with you. Metro. The subway system is also very easy to navigate. there are three lines that are spelled out very simply.
