Just few miles out of Uig the Fairy Glen looks like a Quiraing landslip in miniature. Cone-shaped hills make the place fascinating and otherworldly looking. It gets busy in summer days so I would recommend coming early morning or late evening to enjoy the unique atmosphere of the place.

Duntulm castle is a set of ruins in a dramatic landscape. You cannot get to the ruins themselves as there is a risk of falling rocks but the view from the nearby beach is maybe even better!

The Fairy Glen, near Uig - walk

Distance 2 km / 1.25 miles Time 1 hour + A bizarre and delightful miniature landscape of grassy, cone-shaped hills, the Fairy Glen (sometimes spelt Faerie Glen) is a fascinating and otherworldly place to visit on a sunny summer's day. A specific route is suggested but the exact route taken matters little - this is a place to explore. TERRAIN Mostly dry, grassy walking; reaching the top of Castle Ewen requires an awkward scramble step up. Paths are sometimes indistinct but the exact route taken when exploring the glen doesn't matter.
