This is probably my favourite local place to eat. The food is delicious and it’s only three minutes walk. It can get busy though as the locals all love it too. Worth queuing for!

Really good traditional Italian Chippy. Try some interesting varieties of fried fish, they do fantastic pizza, or why not go full-on native and have the haggis supper, whashed down with Iron Bru?

The best, freshest fish and seafood at reasonable if not cheap prices. Best to book, but you can perch at one side on stools if you don't mind queuing a little.

The old original part of the restaurant was built in the Twenties by the interior fitters of the liner "Queen Mary", which was built on the Clyde. Its Iconic Art Deco Interior is a must see, and the food, though quite expensive, is sensational. Be sure to book, and make sure you sit upstairs in the original part.

Sightseeing

The art Gallery upstairs contains some truly amazing works of art, bought by the far-sighted city fathers over hundreds of years. Don't miss Salvador Dali's iconic "Christ of Saint John on the Cross", surely his greatest ever painting, plus the Scottish Colourists, and the Glasgow boys. The museum downstairs is a little less interesting, except for occasional spacial exhibitions, which can be very good.

Laundry service/Dry cleaners

There is, of course a washing machine in the flat, and a drying rack in every room, but incase you feel like just dropping it off and collecting it later, this is the best in the area. It’s not the nearest (Park Road, which I cannot recommend), but it’s a pleasant walk through the park, and their service is top notch.
