Traveler advice
Book before you go
Driving in Colorado in winter - know the traction laws
During winter months we strongly recommend 4x4 for all our homes as road conditions can be variable. We can have big snow from October through May, so plan accordingly. The following website is a great resource on road conditions and the state state mandated traction law. www.cotrip.org
Book before you go
Altitude and Sunburn
Breckenridge sits at 9600ft - drink lots of water, some more water and a little extra water to reduce the risk of altitude sickness. Also, avoid alcohol - or drink less than usual! - and take it easy for the first few days you are here. Children can often suffer from altitude sickness - suddenly they have been running around all day / no water / then get in the hot tub / no water, and then they are weak and vomiting - keep their water intake up!
Protect your skin from the strong sun - you are 2 miles closer to the sun than at sea level - wear sunscreen, glasses and a hat!
