Stunning sunset views, great but expensive food. Just north of the hotel. Stop at the shark pond. The hotel raises young Hammerhead Sharks to return to the ocean. Yes, despite their reputation, sharks play a vital role in the ocean. Millions are slaughtered every year just for "the fun of it."

Located at the Mauna Lani Beach Club. Great for lunch or dinner. The waitstaff is very friendly and they have live music most nights. The food is excellent, and the prices are not bad, as resort restaurants go. You can't beat the location. They also do special events if you're planning a birthday, anniversary, wedding or something special.

Stunning view at the northern point of the island. Follow the 270 Highway north until it ends. Then turn right and follow the local road to the end. You will pass through the tiny towns of Havi and Kapaau on the way. Kapaau is the birthplace of Kamehameha the Great. There's a statue of him in front of the community center. The pizza parlor across the street has great ice cream.
