The Old Mill area is a must visit! However, this restaurant is my favorite in the area because all the dishes are handmade pottery, made next door in a pottery shop you can visit and see them make pottery live! Other shops and restaurants are there close by!

Traveler advice

Customs and culture

We've got it all!

From go-carts, mini golf, shopping, thrill seeking (white water, zip lining), museums, dinner theater and variety shows, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge truly have it all. Anything you're looking for whether for groups, your family, your children, your loved ones, your friends, or your bachelorette party, you're likely to find what you need here!
Customs and culture

Gatlinburg vs. Pigeon Forge

Pigeon Forge is about 5-15 minutes from Bear's Den, depending on what you're traveling to. Gatlinburg is about 30mins. However, Gatlinburg can be more crowded than PF, and there's sometimes additional traffic getting off the exit and to drive into the main portions of downtown. If you're looking for a lot of the same attractions with less crowd then PF is the place to be. If you're looking for crowds and liveliness of the downtown strip or night life- Gatlinburg is the way to go. Can always do both in one trip, just plan ahead for Gatlinburg traffic and wait times :)
Book before you go

Restaurant Reservations

During the busy season (Oct.- Dec.; June-Aug.) wait times for restaurants can be 1-2 hours. Try to make reservations before your trip, as they may be booked out by the time the weekend rolls around.
Customs and culture

Busy Peak Season

This area has two peak seasons- Summer and Fall. June, July, and August bring summer tourists with July being the busiest of the summer. October for the fall brings tourists on the weekends to see the fall leaves change on the GSM. November and December can be busy with holiday celebrations.
