Ira Mountain is located off Route 27 between Kingfield and Stratton. With an elevation of 1,950 ft. and beautiful rock work, the mountain provides a 200° view of the surrounding mountaintops. Located along the Maine High Peaks Scenic Byway, Ira Mountain is an ideal location for enjoying a picnic or viewing a sunset. At the top of the scenic road, you will have breathtaking views of Mt. Abraham, Sugarloaf, the Canadian Mountains, Big and small Bigelow range, Poplar and Claybrook mountains. In addition to the views, there is an amphitheater with picnic table space as well. There is wheelchair access to the scenic view so everyone can enjoy it.
