Well maintained State Park claiming the highest elevation in Alabama. Abundant vistas , hiking trails, lakes, scenic highway 281 and wildlife viewing are just a few of the many adventures available.
This National Forest covers over 300,000 acres of public land open year round to visitors. A few of the activities include: swimming , hiking, fishing, hunting (limited to open seasons requiring permits for hunting in the 2 State Wildlife Management Areas for large and small game. All other FS lands are open to the public and require only a state hunting license). Fishing in the NFS lakes require only a state fishing license and seniors 65 and older only need a valid drivers license.
