Places to stay in Weston Turville
The Limes is a large, beautifully presented country house set in the depths of the Chiltern Hills in Great Missenden village (the home of Roahl Dahl) Buckinghamshire. This rural location features huge gardens with outdoor swimming pool which is heated (28*c) from May - Sept with stunning views across fields and hills and glorious sunsets through the season. Recently redecorated to a high standard and a new bathroom suite, plus new 8 person Swedish Hot-Tub by the pool. London only 30 miles away.
The Limes is a large, beautifully presented country house set 1.5 acres of manicured gardens and grounds. The house sits in a quiet rural location near Great Missenden and benefits from fantastic west facing views across the Chiltern Hills and a heated outdoor swimming pool and 8 person wooden Hot Tub (pool area is seasonal - open from May to September). BEDROOMS: There is enough room for 10 guests (5 couples sharing). There are 4 bedrooms (3 double beds in 3 bedrooms & 1 bedroom with 2 single beds) in the main part of the house. The 5th bedroom is in the summer house in the garden with a blow up mattress and central heating. It has it's own entrance from the garden area but no bathroom. This room is recommended for use from May-October but is available during the winter months if absolutely necessary. PLEASE NOTE: Guests in the Summer House use the main house bathrooms. HOUSE & GARDEN: The Summer house is the 5th bedroom and is situated in the garden by the veggie patch. There are multiple games (Croquet, Badminton, Rounders, Cricket, Football etc.) that can be found in the Games Box at the bottom of the large lawn. There is a trampoline (no net) in the garden, please be sure that children are supervised. There is also a BOULE Court for those who like a game of 'Petanque'. The house is close to footpaths accessible through a gate at the top of the garden which leads to a lovely circular walk around the local stud farm where there are numerous horses, alpacas, donkeys and a large black pig. There is also a footpath that takes you up onto the famous Ridgeway path that runs the length of The Chiltern Hills and passes through Combe Hill (noted in the 100 Best Views in England book by Simon Jenkins). The property has a large patio area with round table & parasol, there is a decked pergola with stunning views and many other outside seating areas and a swing in the large chestnut tree, there is also a swing bench under the willow & a whicker swing chair. The kitchen at The Limes is large and very well equipped with everything you might need including a large double module AGA for all your family needs. There is also a large gas BROIL KING BBQ and a wood/charcoal fired SMOKER BBQ if you so wish. There is also a fire-pit and a large outdoor fireplace by the pool for those who like a fire outdoors at night. Please note you will need bags of logs for your stay if you wish to heat the hot tub furnace or use the wood burning fireplace / BBQ. If you would like wood provided please ask in advance and I can purchase them for you. Logs are £7 & Kindling £6 p/bag from the local garden centre.
There are a number of wonderful things to experience in the area most notably some beautiful villages, walks and exceptional pubs. A list of these and their contact details will be provided on arrival in the 'Information Manual'. There is an information board in the utility room with further information and a rack of pamphlets in the entrance hall with various things to do and see plus many OS walking maps of the area. If any visitors would like to experience a 'Balloon Ride' across the Chiltern Hills this can be organised (weather & season permitting). POINTS OF INTEREST: The famous Roalh Dahl Museum is close-by in Great Missenden and a great thing to do with kids. Odds Farm & Bekonscot Model Village are a 20 min drive away near Beaconsfield and perfect for families. Waddesdon Manor (NT) is a must see Rothschild stately home and open to the public. Coombe Hill is a local monument walk with phenomenal views. There is a local company who offer Hot Air Balloon rides during the season (please ask if you'd like to book this in advance). PUBS & RESTAURANTS: There is a list of local pubs, restaurants and points of interest when you arrive but here are a few of my favourite pubs to start you off... The Royal Standard of England Pub - Forty Green (the oldest freehouse in England at 900 years old) is a must when in the area. A 15 minute drive but well worth it. The Red Lion - Little Missenden The Full Moon - Little Kingshill The Old Swan - Swan Bottom The Nags Head - Great Missenden The Elephant & Castle - Old Amersham The Russell Arms - Butlers Cross (Coombe Hill walk nearby) The Plough - Cadsden (great circular walk) The Cross Keys - Great Missenden RESTAURANTS in Great Missenden (we mostly eat in the Pubs ;) Sukhothai - Thai in Great Missenden New Akash - Indian in Great Missenden OLD AMERSHAM - only 5 miles away and has 5 excellent pubs: The Elephant & Castle The Saracens The Kings Arms The Swan Inn The Eagle There are also a host of great places to eat in Old Amersham: The Crown Hotel Artichoke (Michelin starred restaurant) Gilbey's restaurant (excellent food) Cote Brasserie Ask Pizza Prezzo Seasons Cafe and Deli The Grocer coffee shop .... as well as some excellent shopping and a large Tesco. Great Missenden is the home of the world famous Roald Dahl museum, while Peterley Farm Shop (3 miles away) offers pick-your-fruit, a great farm shop and a lovely restaurant in their "pop-up" yurt! *The Sir Charles Napier - Michelin Star pub/restaurant in Chinnor is a little further away than our local spots but definitely a must if you want to splash out !! Beaconsfield is 10 miles away and High Wycombe is 7 miles. WALKS There are many walks in the area that join the famous South Bucks Way & Ridgeway path. Coombe Hill is probably one of the most spectacular views anywhere in the Chiltern Hills. Most walks (if followed correctly) take to one of our local pubs. There are OS Maps available at the house if you need them.
  • We have just spent our second family celebration at The Limes. Nolan and Lisa are excellent hosts and were helpful and thoughtful. The Limes is beautifully equipped with lots of thoughtful little touches. It is immaculately clean and tidy which helped make our stay fantastic. I can’t recommend highly enough. We are planning to return next year in Summer to make use of the beautiful facilities. Thanks again.

  • Great property in a lovely rural location but close to Grt Missenden. I hosted a birthday party here and it had everything for our needs. The place itself is homely, has new bathrooms and comtians most things you’d need for a weekend. Nolan was a helpful shot and flexible on the checkout time. Only thing I would flag are the surveillance cameras throughout which aren’t mentioned in the description and made some of my Guests feel a little uncomfortable. Otherwise, great stay and would recommend.

  • Amazing spot, great friendly hosts. Highly recommended.

  • Beautiful home. Fantastic outside space. Nolan and Lisa were brilliant hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend.

  • Nolan and Lisa’s home has bags of character and it’s setting can’t fail to win your heart. This is not a shouty house, but a discreet gem, tucked away, that delivers in every direction. It’s beautifully presented and very homely. I can’t thank Nolan and Lisa enough for their cooperation in helping us with our special event.

  • Wow! We stayed here for a family holiday, guests ranging from just under 2 years - 75 years old and it catered for all. Lovely comfortable, homely feel to the house and gardens, everything you need. Spotlessly clean and welcoming. We had 10 guests and a few day visitors! Excellent hosts, quick to respond and although they live on site, were very discreet and didn’t really see. Guest house is Awesome, like a little haggrid cottage from Harry Potter, don’t let the no toilet facilities put you off! Would love to come back again next year.

  • Book this place with no hesitation, it is very nice and comfortable, and not very far from central London. Of course, weather can be unpredictable, but rain or shine, we enjoyed every moment!

    Krista2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best stay here to celebrate with our closest friends for my brothers stag do. The location is absolutely stunning and it couldn’t have been a more perfect setting for having a BBQ and drinks. Nolan was a brilliant host, helpful and insightful about the local area and the amenities in the grounds, and also a funny and great guy all around. Would thoroughly recommend here and will have great memories of our stay for a long time.

  • We wanted a place with a hot tub for a relaxed Saturday night. Brilliant place, lots of space and an amazing hot tub which we enjoyed even at just 6 degrees. Everything you need kitchen wise, was available. Although we didn't have any children with us, you can tell it is a child friendly place by the amount of toys in the living room. Would definitely consider it again.

Bedroom 2 is probably the quietest room in the house. However other tenants can sometimes be noisy. Bedroom 2 is a spacious room with a single bed in a quiet 4 bedroom shared terraced house in Aylesbury. It's a walk to Aylesbury train station, town centre and Stoke Mandeville hospital. On street parking is free but can be crowded. London Marleybone is 1 hour by train. It's a good holiday location for exploring the Chilterns.
There is a shared upstairs bathroom and a downstairs cloakroom. Shared kitchen and sitting room. Kitchen includes dishwasher, cooker, microwave and fridge/freezer. There are nearby shops and it backs onto fields with walks. Please be considerate to other guests and neighbours by being quiet and cleaning kitchen and bathroom after use.

She is extremely helpful and accommodating, and goes above and beyond what is reasonably expected to ensure I had a pleasant relaxing stay at her place. My home is close to great views and walks in Wendover Woods and Combe Hill. The Ridgeway is also easily accessible. There is a main line station to London in Wendover from which I am a 10/15 minute walk. There are several restaurants and pubs in Wendover. You’ll love my place because of the neighbourhood, the comfy bed and local ammenities. My home is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers. Breakfast can be provided at an additional cost of 5 pounds per person.
  • Ginny is an absolute star! She was so quick to respond to messages and me welcomed into her home with open arms. She was attentive and aware that I had a long day. I have no hesitations in recommending staying in Ginny’s home.

This is a lovely bright, sunny house with a spacious, pretty garden and garden house. It would be great as a base for hiking in the Chilterns or exploring London, Milton Keynes and Oxford. There are several charming villages and small towns such as Wendover and Tring nearby. Aylesbury itself is a market town set on The Grand Union Canal. It has a beautiful Elizabethan centre many bars and restaurants and is home to a thriving theatre called The Waterside.
This is my home and not a hotel. I leave and stay nearby with family when guests arrive. The house is not perfect. It is “lived in” and I am saving my pennies to afford redecoration but I am sure you will find it homely and inviting. You will have free run of the place during your stay. There are three bedrooms upstairs and a living room (with double sofa bed and single floor mattress) and large kitchen diner downstairs. The bathroom with over bath shower is also downstairs. The house has a very chilled out, relaxing and welcoming vibe.
The house is on an attractive, friendly estate and all the nearby neighbours are lovely. There is a paddock with children’s playground immediately outside the garden gate and a pleasant green just opposite. Local shops are half a mile away, and a Tesco Superstore is a mile away.
  • Super good communication, easy to find the house what is exactly like the description and has a nice home feel. Damien did a nice job and are lots of really thoughtful touches. The beds were very comfortable. Tea and Coffee pack was most welcome. For sure if we will be back in the area we will stay at her place again.

  • A lovely peaceful home from home, filled with colour and fairy lights! Perfect! Really light in the daytime yet cosy in the eve. Lots of really thoughtful touches. The beds were very comfortable. Everywhere clean and the little notes about the house came in useful! A good base for exploring. Thank you Damien!

Small double room: shared bathroom/ kitchen between Aylesbury & Tring. Drinks provided but NOT breakfast. I have 2 dogs & a cat; allergic, clean freak or not a pet lover? This is NOT 4 you! 15 min drive to a station / 90 min to London
It's not the biggest room in the world (!) but it's clean and has a comfy bed. No animals go in here (unless you want to sleep with a furry hot water bottle, in which case, on your own head be it, they snore). My house is not Monica-from-Friends pristine but I do keep it as clean as I can with the dogs undoing my every effort! If you are going to fret about a dog hair in your cup of tea I'd suggest this isn't the place for you...
So, Aston Clinton is a small village with not a great deal in it! The local garage has a cash point, a small shop and is open until 10PM. The arrival of this was such big news it was announced in the local paper, seriously, it is quiet here! Realistically, you need to drive from mine to everywhere but once you do, the possibilities are endless! FOOD Nice pubs - 3 mins! Both do great food, cheaper ones a bit further out Takeaways, Chinese, Chips, Curry - all within 8 mins Supermarket 10 mins AMENITIES Stoke Mandeville Hospital - 10 mins STUFF Wendover woods / the Ridgeway / Go Ape - 10 mins Amazing walks - everywhere! Aylesbury - 10 -15 (traffic depending) Tring / also The Ridgeway - 10 mins Arla - 2 mins Wendover - 8 mins (actual pretty village!) Berkhamsted - 15 mins
  • Kathy is a great host - Very thoughtful and accommodated the fact that I was running late. The dogs are lovely and it’s a very welcoming home - and great value for money!

    Alix2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy is an amazing host. Despite some logistical troubles that meant I would be extremely late, she was happy to accommodate. The most wonderful touch was when I arrived and immediately went to bed, Kathy had provided a body length hot water bottle that made the bed even more snug and warm. It was a great stay. Thanks, Kathy.

    Helena2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy is an excellent host, great communication and easy check in. Easy place to find and the room was very nice, clean and tidy. Dogs were equally as lovely and really well natured, all in all I would definitely stay again if visiting the area!

  • We spent two nights at Paul and Jane’s home which is situated in pleasant surroundings and only a short car ride into the town centre. Space was made available for us to park our car in the driveway. This was greatly appreciated. We were warmly greeted on our arrival and shown to our room. The bedroom and bathroom were clean and well presented. Bed linen, pillows and towels were all good quality items. We found the bed to be comfortable and it provided two nights of sound rest after a very long trip. Paul was a very good host who willingly conversed while we shared experiences and enjoyed a breakfast of cereal, toast, (a selection of preserves and spreads) juice and tea or coffee. We are happy to recommend Paul and Jane’s home and hospitality as a place to stay.

  • Friendly welcome and comfortable room and private bathroom. Good continental breakfast.

    Frances2019-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • A good value, clean, well-equipped, well-presented and quiet place for our stay, in a very good position for our purposes. We only saw Jane on our arrival but Paul looked after us well. As we are not cat lovers, it was excellent that our hosts keep them away from guests and the bedroom and bathroom. We had to leave as arranged at 6am to meet our planned appointments, which was too early for our hosts to provide breakfast. We didn't visit the pubs that were listed, but instead enjoyed an evening at another nearby pub that is in the 2019 Good Pub Guide.

    Peter2019-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts were very accommodating and friendly and have a lovely family home. Nice bright room with comfortable bed and huge window overlooking the front private garden. Nice breakfast. Will definitely stay again when in the area.

Something good about the property is that it’s right on the main road and everything is very nearby. Stoke Mandeville Hospital is literally 5 minutes walk and town is less than 20 minutes. Bus stop is 1 minute away from home. Buses available are no. 300, 13, 7, 55, 165. Two shopping choices are Asda which is next to the hospital and CO OP almost 2 steps away from the house which is very convenient. As for the room, it is clean, light and airy. It’s the perfect option for a comfortable stay.

The house is a semi detached with light cream decor throughout. The hallway and living room have laminated flooring. The location is ideal for its tranquil setting on Evesham Green in the suburbs of Aylesbury. Please note to park around Evesham Green and not in the house owners spaces at the back as this is private parking.
The house is located within walking distance of the town centre and mainline station. It is close to Watermead with its two lakes and tranquil settings. The Airbnb is close to the Gatehouse industrial estate.
The area is quiet. There is a bus stop nearby.

A large, comfortable room in a modern barn conversion right on the Chiltern Way and just down the road from Wendover Woods. Perfect for walkers and cyclists, equally suitable for commuters into Aylesbury (20 minutes) or Hemel Hempstead (30 minutes). We are happy for you to share our home as much or as little as you wish. Help yourself to tea, coffee and DIY breakfast of home made bread and marmalade. The shared guest bathroom and toilet are downstairs. There is free, off road parking.
We have only just moved in but have previously been hosting on our farm for nearly 4 years, so are experienced hosts and love Airbnb-ing! We'll do our best to help you make the best of your stay while we discover the delights of this beautiful part of the country too. We have three cats, who love laps to sit on. You are welcome to sit with us of an evening (there are still a few boxes around!), share our kitchen space and enjoy the acre of garden we have here. Watch this space for the development of our vegetable garden and wildflower meadows. There will be homemade bread and marmalade for breakfast, and, when the chickens arrive, we should be able to provide eggs too.
The barn sits in an acre of land, back off the road. It's very quiet apart from the calling of Red Kites, which are plentiful in this area. We are surrounded by fields and woodland. Chesham in just 15 minutes drive down the hill and Aylesbury 20 minutes up the hill. Both have a good variety of shops, banks and eateries. We'll add more as we learn more!
  • Superhosts worthy of their title! Lorraine and Mark took on a very last minute reservation from me and I was able to arrive in an hour. They were friendly, generous and hospitable, good to have a chat with there’s no obligation to chat if you’d rather be alone. I felt absolutely safe staying at their place. Room was large and bed comfortable. Their grandkids were around when I stayed and we had fun playing together. Bonus: They have 3 cats, but they keep out of the way most of the time.

Everything has been thought of and nothing is missing - including the milk in the fridge to makeup remover in the bathroom. Steve and Patricia really do go above and beyond to make sure that you enjoy your stay and are as comfortable as possible. Even though it was immaculately clean, they have still managed to achieve a warm homely environment. We would stay again in a heartbeat!

Steve and Patricia really go above and beyond with what they provide including smart tv, board games, make up remover and cotton pads, as well as welcome snacks and a good selection of tea. The portable heaters warm up nice and quickly and the book containing visitor information was helpful including good recommendations for breakfast spots. Everything was of the highest quality such as the towels, hand soap and bed linen and kitchen utensils. Honestly loved our stay so much we didn’t want to leave and can truthfully say it’s one of the best air bnbs we have stayed in. I can rightly see why Patricia and Steve are super hosts and they’re passion for hosting and hospitality is clearly reflected in their air bnb.

I welcome my clients to our home just as they are at front door, likewise I would like them to join me in this fight by using the provided disinfectant items. all rooms are private. contamination is kept minimally close to zero.bathroom is now equipped with non-touch handwash soap dispenser.

  • Sibbys place felt like home away from home. Even better. No disturbances, she paid so much attention to details when setting the room up. The TV is equiped with a fire stick and loads of movies. Very comfortable toilet and bathroom. No use of the kitchen, but she ensured everything needed for dishes was available. If you are coming for the NES course, it's about the best you can get because it's really close. Thanks Sibby

The Garden Room at The Old Bakehouse. Self contained with independent access we have everything you need for a comfortable stay - high quality bedlinen; en suite bathroom with White Company toiletries; Nespresso machine; sunny breakfast space. On the edge of the Chilterns, a short drive from Tring Station, three trains an hour to London. Local attractions include Whipsnade Zoo, Tring Museum, The Making of Harry Potter at Leavesden Studios, Bletchley Park, Waddesdon Manor and the Ashridge Estate.
The Old Bakehouse was built around 1840 and The Garden Room was converted in 2018 from our office and shed. The bed is a handmade four poster UK king size with new Caspar mattress and good quality bedlinen, bedside lights, Kettle and Nespresso coffee machine, Sophie Conran crockery, White Company toiletries. We have a child's travel cot and a child's inflatable bed, but there's not much room although children are welcome. Before our time the privies for all five cottages (now only two) stood here. The Bakehouse was a two storey wooden building added on to the row, housing a communal bread oven for the cottages to reduce the risk of fire. In the 1980 the bakehouse was converted to the current main house sitting room and master bedroom. Access to Old Bakehouse is by foot from Chequers Lane along a short path in front of the adjoining house and through the gate pictured. Parking is in the street right outside. We'll make sure the nearest space is available for you. We are happy for dogs to stay so long as they have their own bed with them. Although all at ground floor level we are not DDA compliant.
The villages of Pitstone and Ivinghoe are at the foot of the Chiltern Hills. The modern Pitstone Green business park is a short walk away, but the most famous landmarks are Pitstone windmill and Ivinghoe Beacon. This is an excellent location for walkers, just a short step up to the Ridgeway national long distance footpath, ending at Ivinghoe Beacon, or the National Trust's Ashridge Estate 5000 acres of beech woodland. If you prefer to stay on the level, the Grand Union Canal and its subsidiaries can take you on the towpath to Tring Reservoirs or the nearby market towns of Wendover, Aylesbury, Leighton Buzzard and Berkhamsted. Just round the corner in Pitstone there is a village shop, take away wood-fired pizzeria and Chinese restaurant. In Ivinghoe there is the local award winning Haldi Indian restaurant, CuriosiTea coffee shop and tea room, the Rose and Crown Pub and one of 'Britain's finest restaurants' The Kings Head. there is also a pharmacy, post office and shop, and hairdresser. Nearby in Tring there are three top class restaurants including Crockers Chef's Table. Pendley Manor and Ashridge House both popular wedding venues are a short drive away.
  • Lovely accommodation, very clean and fresh. Great to have the extra space for breakfast and the garden is delightful. Breakfast is plentiful and sets you up beautifully for the day.

A stunning, modern, self-contained lodge in the grounds of a private house in the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The Lodge is a self-contained, detached space with a dedicated off-road parking space and private entrance. It has a fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, American style fridge/freezer and washing machine/tumble dryer. The living and dining area is open plan with a double futon. The bathroom with double size shower is accessed via the bedroom which can accommodate two single beds or one double. Guests have the use of a private patio with tables and chairs. We have a very friendly English Springer Spaniel who has the run of the garden but is not allowed in The Lodge. The unheated pool is available for guests to use at an additional cost and by prior arrangement. Please note we live in the house on the other side of the pool.
The Lodge is located approximately 1 mile from the picturesque village of Wendover. Weston Turville Reservoir is a short walk and is a wonderful oasis of water, woods and wildlife. There is access to the perimeter path around the reservoir from World's End Lane and Halton Lane. The reservoir is home to Aylesbury Sailing Club, which can be accessed on the same path.
  • Great lodge and location. The gardens are lovely and provide plenty of privacy. The lodge is perfect for a self catering stay with fully equipped kitchen and a lounge area. The facilities are great. We stayed with our young baby and found the lodge to be perfect for us and very spacious even with the hordes of baby equipment we took. The hosts were great and provided plenty of essential. They were also on hand if needed, had great communications and were happy to help. Unfortunately We didn't get chance to visit the local nature trail but hopefully we will be back soon to explore.
