  • Chocolate Box Cottage is a wonderful little house, and I would recommend it to anyone. The rooms are all very nicely furnished and comfortable, and I immediately felt at home. This was my first visit to Suffolk, and Aldeburgh was a great location to explore the area- there are superb walks nearby, especially the Sailors Path to Snape Maltings. Sophie and Harry were super hosts, and couldn’t have been more helpful. One of the most relaxing breaks I can remember!

  • This is one of our favourite places to stay. Sophie and Harry make us feel highly welcome. We visit Aldeburgh in the freezing winter months (for work) but the cottage is always beautifully warm and cosy. The double bed is one of the most comfy I’ve ever slept in. We are booking again for next year without a shred of hesitation. Thank you Sophie and Harry.

The bathroom is adjacent with a bath and a shower. Downstairs is the newly fully fitted kitchen/living/dining room with TV. It is a small room but sunny in summer and cosy in winter. There is a sofa bed for the occasional guest(s). (£15 for linen or bring your own) The kitchen has an oven, microwave and a 4 ring hob with cover which acts as a splashback when open. There is also a larder fridge, a freezer, a toaster and, of course, a kettle. There is a downstairs WC. The cottage has oil fired central heating. Immediately outside is a south facing terrace with a large table and an electric awning. If you have friends/family in the area you can entertain up to 10. The whole garden, of which this is part, is designed mainly for wildlife - shrubs, trees and many scented hip bearing roses.
The Suffolk coast has many attractions. We have wonderful sunrises as well as sunsets in our garden. We have good bird and wild life. We are 3 miles inland from Walberswick and Southwold and close to Dunwich and Minsmere with many good walks. As well as the White Hart in Blythburgh, which has wonderful views over the estuary, there are excellent places to eat in the surrounding villages (The Anchor at Walberswick and Mains at Yoxford are in the good food guide). The nearby cafe at Darsham Nurseries has had very good reviews for unusual dishes. There are a number of farmer's markets and shops close by. Blythburgh is famous for its large and beautiful church, known as "the Cathedral of the Marshes". Concerts are held here as well as at Snape Maltings (25mins drive) during the Aldeburgh Festival and at other times of the year. The Latitude Festival (mid July) takes place about a mile from the village.
  • A lovely cosy and welcoming cottage for two, perfectly situated to explore Southwold and the lovely Suffolk countryside.

  • Lovely cosy cottage, everything we needed was provided. A warm welcome from Roderick and Claire as well. Comfortable bed and hot showers were much needed after a days walking. Was perfect for our short break in Suffolk. Their local knowledge came in very useful for amazing evening meals. Check the garden out, something different around every corner,a real work of art.

  • Roderick gave very quick response to our questions reference bringing a dog which may not be to apparent on the web site . The property is easy to find and its position on the suffolk coast is ideal for striking out to many of the coast towns. The property is ideal for two people , warm and very homely with all the facilities you could wish for . The owners live in the same building and are very helpful as you would expect.

  • We booked this stay as a spontaneous night away and it was absolutely gorgeous, whilst being very good value. The hut is so clean and tidy, with such thoughtful little touches. It was so well equipped with everything we needed. The fire was cosy and warm and we slept so well. The location was great for us and the hut is tucked away and feels very private. Couldn’t recommend this place enough! I’m sure we will back for future visits. Thank you very much Diane. Xx

  • Our second stay and we very much hope to return again. Such a cosy space, really comfortable bed and spotlessly clean. Great location, short drive to the coast. Lovely little touches such as home baked cakes and bread. Can't recommend highly enough.

  • The stay in the Shepherds Hut was so lovely. It is decorated to a high standard, even the radiators are to die for! Perfect little getaway where we spent our Saturday in Southwold, followed by a Sunday exploring Dunwich Heath. Diane left us essential items and fresh bread/slices of cake! The log burner was perfect after a long day out exploring. So peaceful, relaxing and cosy! We will definitely try to rebook in the summer. A must visit and excellent value for money!

  • Idyllic stay, perfect location to unwind, facilities cater to all needs, comfy bed, Diane was a great host - welcoming with fresh bread and snacks provided! Highly recommend..

    Lewis2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely place to stay, so clean and spacious (moreso than expected) with lovely touches like homemade bread and lager in the fridge. The fire was lovely also. It wasn’t very clear where it was located until we were right outside the property and that was a little stressful, also the oven was manually lit and I had to ask how to work it so I felt a bother having to keep asking dianne questions but she did respond quickly. all round excellent choice.

  • The accommodation was more spacious than we had expected, comfortable bed, large shower and an amazing log burner. Cakes and fresh baked bread delicious.

This spacious Victorian house is in the heart of Aldeburgh on a quiet street, within a minutes' walk of the beach and Aldeburgh high street with its famous fish and chip shops. The house is newly re-furbished in a light contemporary style. On the ground floor it has a large living room, separate dining room and newly-refurbished bathroom. There is a private sunny outside garden with outside furniture. We have a travel cot and high chair for young children in the property as well. Upstairs there are three double bedrooms, two with double beds, and one with twin beds. The twin bedded room leads directly off the second double bedroom. Please note: the staircase is steep and some elderly people may find it difficult.
The house is situated in the heart of Aldeburgh - a picturesque Suffolk seaside town particularly popular among music lovers, bird watchers, walkers and artists. Situated close to Snape Maltings concert hall and host to the Aldeburgh Music Festival, Aldeburgh is known also for it's connection to Benjamin Britton, who lived in the town for many years The High Street hosts a number of good restaurants, pubs, antique shops, bookshops, bakers, butchers, fishmongers, and two fish and chip shops - both less than a couple of minutes' walk.
  • Gret location, clean and spacious. Great communication from Frances and a local welcome bag was an unexpected extra.

  • The location of the is house is perfect for your stay in Aldeburgh, it is minutes from the high street and thus beach. The house was phenomenally clean and very well presented. There was a lovely welcome gift for us on arrival and many useful local guides available. We went with 2 young children which was not a problem at all, there is a lot of space.

    Matthew2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay when visiting Aldeburgh. The location is perfect just behind the High Street and close to the two magpies bakery. The house is very stylish and has everything you need. Francis was very quick to reply and also left us a welcome gift which we didn’t expect.

    Clem2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay here. So lovely to be able to walk to High Street, visit the Two Magpies for coffee and pastries, and the fabulous beach. The house was beautifully presented and very comfortable. Our Adnams welcome gift was a lovely surprise and we enjoyed it very much. We had everything we needed, and all agreed it was one of the best houses we’ve stayed in. Thank you Frances!

    Rebecca2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful house very conveniently located in stunning Aldeburgh. Cosy, great extra touches and it had everything we needed for a weekend away. The bed in the middle bedroom was really comfortable too. The stairs are very steep but this wasn’t a problem for us as a young family. Thank you for a wonderful break!

    Julia2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Such a perfect property for a visit to the sea- away from the crowds but close enough to be incredibly convenient for the high street and the beach. We booked for two nights at the beginning of Jan and we especially loved the stylish decor, glimpsed views of the sea and the Alde estuary from upstairs, the open fireplace for winter evenings, the excellent heating and use of Chromecast, and the bakery round the corner! The house was sparkling clean, warm and very well set up for visitors. A gift bag of goodies and toiletries on each bed was a lovely touch- thank you. Excellent communication too which was brilliant. A new favourite for us! We only wish the mattresses were a little softer but we appreciate it’s hard to please everyone when it comes to beds.

Our family has been holidaying at Westdene for four generations and it just gets better every year! Whatever time you choose to visit this unique part of Suffolk, there is a never-ending list of things to do. We have Netflix or Monopoly for the rainy days and bikes and outdoor table tennis for sunny days. The house feels so spacious, but you will feel instantly at home. We are five minutes walk from the sea; two minutes walk from the pub; four minutes walk from the boating lake and golf club
This is a cottage with a real family feel, but with lots of space to escape. The garden is a joy and room for cricket or football. There is also a barbecue available for the many sunny days. The bedrooms are all large and there are three sofas in the lounge, as well as two big comfy armchairs. Comfort will follow you wherever you go in this house:). Well-behaved dogs are very welcome (not on furniture or in bedrooms), they will love the garden!
This is a village where you can do as much or as little as you like. Chill out with long beach walks or play golf, tennis, fish, cycle, shop, wine and dine. There is the beautiful boating lake (meare) for the kids to take out canoes, kayaks or rowing boats. Or the adults may prefer a punt or a sailing dinghy. There are islands for the kids to land on and explore, or you could take a picnic to eat on board the boat or on Pirate's Lair. A recent review - We had the best weekend staying at Westdene. It's a lovely seaside country home, really spacious yet retaining warmth and cosiness. The house comes with everything you could need- from board games, to trampoline to loads of kitchen equipment. The location was amazing- with beach, lake and seaside town all within walking distance. Highly recommend taking boats out on the lake, visiting House in the Clouds and getting fish n chips in Aldeburgh. However- it was hard to be torn away from the amazing garden to be honest! Thorpeness is like nowhere I have been before- there is something very magical and charming about it. We didn't meet Julie but she was really helpful and accommodating. This was the perfect cottage retreat, full of things to do come rain or shine. We can't wait to come back!
  • We had a great stay at this beautiful home. Everything you needed was there, especially the kitchen which had a a great array of utensils for cooking and a great dvd collection. The rooms were comfy and the bathrooms great. This is a special find so close to the beach and great pubs (shame about Cornona !). Do stay here

    Alasdair2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely weekend, the house was much more spacious than it looks in the pictures! Our children enjoyed the garden and the grown ups enjoyed the comfy sofas in the evening. We would love to stay again in future!

Set in an idyllic location next to a nature reserve overlooking the Alde estuary, this really is an escape from it all, and yet Aldeburgh is still within easy reach. Recently renovated to the highest standards, the cottage is a beautiful combination of designer and vintage interiors.
Welcome to White Cottage, just within the borders of Aldeburgh, Suffolk in the east of England. The cottage is set in an idyllic location on the historic Sailors Path, within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a stone's throw from the fascinating Hazlewood Marshes nature reserve on the Alde estuary. The centre of Aldeburgh is 5 minutes' drive, or 15 minutes' bike ride, from the cottage. Recently renovated to the highest standards by an interior designer, the cottage has 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. It can accommodate up to 7 + 2 on a sofa bed. A baby cot is available on request. The property enjoys 1/3 of an acre garden and is situated amongst 3 acres of common land leading down to the estuary and marsh land. Children (and adults) can play, build dens and swing on the rope ladder looking towards far reaching views over the estuary and Iken. For a real Swallows and Amazons adventure this is a wonderful holiday break where everyone can relax! The property comes fully equipped with all you will need for a restful holiday so you can rest in the knowledge that you will have a luxurious and pampering stay. The main living area is open plan and includes the kitchen and sitting area with a selection of vintage and designer furniture. Cosy up next to the wood burner in the winter or cook up a storm on the barbecue and gaze at the stars in the summer - the cottage is a perfect get-away for all seasons. The kitchen is well equipped with a hand blender, Nespresso machine, Le Creuset kitchenware, Nutribullet and a wonderful selection of crockery, sourced locally. Leading from the kitchen is the family bathroom with a bath and shower and Suffolk handmade tiles to finish it off. The master bedroom: The room has a wonderful ensuite bathroom with large roll top bath and walk in shower. Clad in reclaimed wood it feels very much like you are a luxurious yacht looking up from bath to the stars through the roof light...Lie back with a glass of something cold and breathe... The 2nd bedroom has a double bed with a single bunk bed perfect for a couple or kids. The room can sleep up to 4 children all tucked up cosily with hot water bottles and cosy throws! The 3rd bedroom: Upstairs there is a loft room with wonderful views out across the garden to the estuary. It has a double futon and is a very cosy space. Please note that it is accessed via a spiral staircase which is not suitable for small children or people who are not sure-footed. The garden is a space for relaxing, finding spaces to make camps and just spending time listening to the birds! Outside on the terrace there are deck chairs, seating in 2 areas and a large Weber barbecue with a pizza oven. For those that like bird watching, the Hazlewood Marshes, just a 5 minute walk away, have just been reopened; you can read more about the marshes here: (URL HIDDEN). Even if bird-watching is not your thing, it is hard not to be entranced by the birdsongs and calls carried up to the cottage. And you're likely to spot other wildlife too, including the occasional mole, stoat, and the ubiquitous rabbits! If you like jumping there is also a 14ft trampoline in the garden. The cottage gives our family such pleasure every time we visit. We hope you love it as much as we do!
Quiet, beautiful, escape! About Aldeburgh: World-renowned, thanks to its connection with Benjamin Britten, founder of the Aldeburgh Festival which takes place in June each year, Aldeburgh is as perfect a traditional seaside escape as you could hope to find. Pastel-coloured 19th Century holiday villas line the promenade. To their east, the pebble beach with fisherman's huts selling the daily catch. Inland, the High Street offers delightful clothes boutiques, antiques and arts, an independent book shop and cinema plus a huge variety of culinary temptation, from the renowned fish and chips, to fine bistro dining, excellent wood fired pizzas and of course, seaside ice cream! Between the High Street and the sea you'll also find the Lifeboat Station, with museum and shop, along with The 16th Century Moot Hall, which houses a museum charting the Town's history from its Roman beginnings to the present day. Just four miles upstream along the Alde is Snape Maltings, home to the concert hall built by Britten, Pears and friends and now also home to a delightful complex of interiors and antique shops, a good dining pub and cafe, along with stunning walks laid-out across the reed beds - which lead down Sailors Path and back to White Cottage. Stroll north a mile or so along Aldeburgh sea front, past the Maggi Hambling sculpture, the Scallop, and you'll arrive in equally lovely Thorpeness. Thorpeness began life as a private fantasy holiday village, built by Glencairn Stuart Ogilvy in 1910. This fascinating village, with its mock Tudor and Jacobean architecture is home to the Meare, an artificial boating lake covering over 60 acres inspired by J. M. Barrie's Peter Pan. Tiny islands like The Pirates' Lair and Wendy's House are perfect for wannabe pirates and adventurers to explore. The Dolphin pub is excellent with a large garden. Floating above the Meare is the House in the Clouds, a converted former water tower. 10 things you MUST do while you're here…. 1. Take a ride down Sailors Path to Snape...Shop, eat, sit with a glass of rose on the river and breathe!... 2. Eat the best Eccles cake with Lancashire cheese at Pump St Bakery, Orford 3. Walk down to the Hazelwood Marshes reserve . 4. Go to the Thorpeness country club and have a game of tennis, they lay on lots of activities for kids so you can play! 5. Take a boat onto the Thorpeness Meare to relive the stories of Peter Pan. 6. Swim in the sea! 7. Have a coffee at the new cafe opposite the Meare at Thorpneess and take in the antiques emporium. 8. Visit Vintage Angels at Hall Farm (on the way into Aldeburgh) for some classic Vintage dresses/suits etc. 9. Go crabbing at Walberswick and pick up some smoked blackened bacon from Pinneys on the quay. 10. Let the kids just run and be free, make camps, bounce and have fun so you can too!

    Jane2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved staying at White Cottage. You couldn't wish for a more perfect place in such a peaceful and beautiful setting. You really felt that you were cut of from the modern world, yet just a very short drive to the relative hustle and bustle of Aldeburgh; its beach, fish and chips and lovely shops. It was perfect for our family (couple of toddlers) who could safely play in the garden and with the toys in the house. The house itself is beautiful and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

    Seb2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a brilliant place to stay. Beautiful house in a very peaceful location - literally on a nature reserve just outside Aldeburgh, but only a five minute drive into town. Would definitely book it again another time.

  • Priscilla and Ricardo are wonderfully warm and thoughtful hosts who took great care to ensure we were comfortable during our stay in their lovely garden annexe. The annexe itself is set in their beautiful garden with a light and airy conservatory that looks over a stunning landscape - keen birdspotters be aware, you will LOVE it here. It was spotlessly clean, full of thoughtful decorative touches relevant to Suffolk and really cosy. You’ll have everything you need in this Airbnb including a delicious breakfast in the morning cooked fresh and delivered to your conservatory, prepare to feel spoiled! I want to also mention that my fiancé and I got engaged the weekend we stayed and Priscilla & Ricardo went the extra mile to make it that little bit more special. They both are model Airbnb hosts and we certainly will be returning in the future!

  • Priscilla's place is like a little oasis. Priscilla and Ricardo provide a beautiful breakfast to enjoy in your own conservator while enjoying the beautiful views and birdsong. They are fantastic hosts and went beyond the call of duty to make sure we had everything we needed.

  • This is one of the best Airbnbs we have stayed at. Priscilla and Ricardo are friendly and thoughtful hosts who want the guests to enjoy this day as much as possible. The room is comfortable, private and spotlessly clean. We also enjoyed eating the breakfast which Ricardo brought to the door of our conservatory each morning. Highly recommended.

The area is rich in wildlife and has a network of footpaths. Westleton is roughly about halfway between the seaside towns of Southwold where you can take a stroll down Southwold Pier for coffee and stunning views back at the town, and Aldeburgh famous fish and chips – which makes it an ideal location for exploring the pretty heritage coastline and ancient villages. Darsham mainline train station is just 3 miles away, with several direct trains to London Liverpool Street. For a bit of fun why not take the kids crabbing in Walberswick!

There is free parking opposite the gated entrance on the road. It is also within walking distance of 2 charming pubs, a well stocked village shop, 2 bookshops, Westleton common, footpaths, forests and heaths. The beach is only 3 miles drive away. Westleton is set in a landscape of Outstanding Natural Beauty and within the parish lies the internationally renowned Minsmere Bird Reserve, owned and managed by the RSPB. Westleton Heath National Nature Reserve and parts of Dunwich Forest also lie within the parish. The majority of the 500 or so inhabitants live close to the B1125 Blythburgh to Leiston road, the remainder living in scattered cottages and farmhouses in this otherwise agricultural landscape. The Village Hall and St Peters Church are the focal points of village activities, whilst the White Horse and The Crown pubs are the main social centres. The parish of Westleton is bounded by the parishes of Dunwich, Darsham, Middleton cum Fordley and Theberton cum Eastbridge. The placename Westleton (or Westledestuna as it appeared in the Domesday Book of 1086) is believed to derive from the Old Norse Vestlithi (a personal name) and Old English tun i.e. Vestlithi's homestead.

  • Suffolk Hideaways's place was nice, clean and tidy and it actually felt really homely. Everything was nice and clean, the house generally and the kitchen in particular was well-equipped and the internet was good. The place is easily accessible and we had a great time visiting the area and our friends in town. Thank You!

  • Great little cottage well placed for Minsmere. Clean and well decorated with everything you need provided. Parking usually available outside but if not there is a free car park a couple of minutes walk away. Recommended with no issues whatsoever 👍👍

  • The House was great, nicely furnished and equipped looks to be newly renovated. Heating worked excellent. Shower was super. Bathroom floor heating was a real treat. The place was sparkling clean. The bed was comfy. Check in was easy (look for a separate email from AirB&B user). We had a great & relaxing time. Just a note for future guests, the parking is street parking which can get fairly busy at times. There was a free open parking lot about 2 to 3 minute walk down the road. Nice base point if you are wanting to explore the Suffolk area. Internet was fast enough to stream Netflix / Youtube.

  • A great place to stay. Very cosy and a great location with woods and grounds. We had a problem with the water, but that got sorted out straight away. If I stayed here again I'd clarify that there would be wood provided for the burner (there wasn't for us). Nice touch the host put lights up in a tree outside the door, to guide our way in. Thanks.

It is perfect if you wish to relax in complete privacy with your own securely fenced garden that is not overlooked and decked verandah, complete with bistro set for enjoying a morning coffee or evening glass of wine. Additional garden chairs are in the storage box. There is a horseshoe driveway and parking for two cars as well as a secure cycle shed for storage of bikes or any other items, like pushchairs. Wetsuits, bodyboards and crab-lines are all available for guests to borrow. The living accommodation offers seating, sleeping and dining for up to four guests. The comfortable sofa bed can be made up for your arrival or additional bedding left in the bedroom for you to assemble yourself. Please let me know if you'll be using the sofa bed. The kitchen contains all cooking /eating utensils, cutlery, mugs, range of glasses, washing-up liquid/cloth/scourer, tea-towels, chopping boards and tray. Tea and coffee (including decaffeinated) and sugar/sweetener is provided. There are two phone charging points in one of the plug sockets. The living area has two sofas - the corner sofa is the sofa bed and should stay in that corner, but the other sofa can be moved as required to look into the garden, face the other sofa across the coffee table or moved around for TV viewing. A DVD player is connected to the TV which has all Freeview channels. DVDs and games are provided as well as a selection of information about the local area. The bedroom has a king-size bed, two roomy built-in wardrobes with hangers, bedside cabinets and lamps. There is a full size mirror and hairdryer. Halesworth is a 5 minute drive away and has a large Co-op supermarket (with bakery), a wide range of local shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes, a Wednesday market, library, Town Trail, and large park (with play area and skatepark). There is a Boots chemist and an emergency minor injuries service at the doctors surgery (see info folder).
  • I have just returned from another great week at Robin's Rest, It was the second time I have stayed and I am so glad I chose to again. Sarah is such a friendly and welcoming host and her place is perfectly located to explore one of my favorite areas in the UK. Robin's Rest is very comfortable and relaxing. It is well equipped and had everything I needed. I will definitely be back! Thank you Sarah!

  • We’ve just returned from a weekend at Sarah’s place, our fourth. We feel so comfortable there and would highly recommend it. The location is convenient for Halesworth town with its shops, pubs and green spaces. The Suffolk coast is close by car. There is so much to do in the area and then you return to the haven of Sarah’s place. This was our first visit as dog owners. Daisy and her cousin were most welcome and Sarah has a well stocked ‘doggy box’. We love it here 😍

  • Robin's rest is the perfect place to have a weekend getaway with your family. Very peaceful, I really enjoyed seatting outside in the back garden reading a book with a warm blanket and a cup of tea while my kids were inside playing. The cabin is equipped with everything that you may need, and the host Sarah is very nice and friendly. Highly recommended!

  • We have just returned after 4 nights at Robin's Rest and I have to say this was the best stay we ever had! We have had a few! But this little bungalow was perfect for us in every way, we took our small dog and there was a wonderful fully fenced off garden with a decking and enough grass for her to run around and sniff the 'sniffs' with particular mention to the rabbit sniffs that she got very excited about! She particularly enjoyed sitting on the decking on 'guard' to make sure none of those pesky hoppers got in to the garden! Sarah had provided pooh bags, treats, even food, blankets and throws for the sofas and even a special outside bin for the pooh bags. The kitchen was great very self contained with lovely clean units and lots of work space, I particularly liked the recycling boxes with clear instructions of how to use them. There was so much information in the folder that Sarah had put together, if you wanted to see it, do it, find it, it was in that folder and everything that wasn't, was clearly labelled and/or explained. There was lots of cupboard space, 2 wardrobes with a deep shelf each and plenty of room for a shoes, bags and cases, there were also 2 bedside cabinets with 3 drawers each, which was great for underwear and make up and things. The bed was a king size which I was very pleased about, I don't like small beds! There was a large shower with plenty of hot water and complimentary and very good quality toiletries, I never normally use them as they tend to be cheap and sometimes nasty, but these were Tresemme and Soap and Glory, the toilet paper was also a good quality tissue. There were also complimentary teas, coffees and sugar, which I was very pleased to find as I had forgotten my sweeteners only to find a jar with lots in! Everywhere was absolutely spotless, so very clean, compact and well organised. I would definitely recommend Sarah's place, we will definitely visit again.

  • Very happy here - loads of space, clean, in great location. Very basic, no frills. Loved the wood burner in the evenings. Good for my wife who is disabled with bad vision and mobility - all very accessible. The managing agents were very helpful when we requested a bigger TV and a side lamp - and sorted it out within 24 hours.

A rural retreat in the Suffolk countryside, wonderful open views to fields and wildlife. 15 minutes from the coastal town of Southwold, 5 minutes from Dunwich Heath, Minsmere bird reserve and 20 minutes from Snape Maltings and Aldeburgh.
Everything needed for a comfortable stay, with lovely views , wildlife and amazing sunsets.
The village is small and quiet with just a pub and butchers and horse riding stables. There is a petrol station cafe, shop and flower nursery 1.5 miles in the other direction. This has petrol, food, off licence and a cash point. Dunwich , Southwold, Halesworth and Minsmere are 5-15 minutes away. All of the coastline is very pretty and accessible with great places to eat and drink. Lovely areas to walk within woodland, beaches or Heathland. We have further information at the house and can suggest places for a variety of interests and activities.
  • The Snug is a great place to stay whilst exploring the local Suffolk coast line. There is an amazing bakery 2 mins away in Darsham and the lack of phone signal means you can switch off and unwind. The house is perfectly located for exploring Southwold and Aldeborough and is very clean and perfectly hosted.

  • What a lovely little property. It was just my little dog and I but definitely spacious enough for a couple. The garden was fenced off securely so was able to just leave my back door open. There were lovely cosy touches likes dvds to use and books, local info, some milk, coffee and even biscuits (thank you). Bed comfy, clean towels left out, spotlessly clean throughout. Would definitely stay again. Thank you.

Little Owl Cottage is set a stones throw away from Dunwich beach, overlooking Dingle Marsh Nature Reserve. With the Suffolk Coastal Path right on the doorstep this is the perfect cottage to escape from it all and take in all the beauty that the Suffolk Coast has to offer. With two large bedrooms, an extensive open plan living/kitchen area and a private south facing courtyard this 18th Century cottage is a little piece of heaven in the sleepy village of Dunwich.
With exposed, original beams throughout this cottage started off its life in the 18th Century as the cart shed for the main farm. The space is on one level so is perfect for those who find climbing stairs a little more difficult.
Dunwich is a sleep coastal village set on the Suffolk Heritage Coast. Steeped in history the village was once a large trading port but due to many storms in the 12th Century much was lost to the sea. The village still boasts a village pub, the Ship Inn, and also a fabulous Tearooms, Dingle Hill Tearooms.
  • The pictures do not do this lovely cottage justice. It's spacious but still feels homely. Plenty of storage in bedrooms and kitchen has all that's needed. Under floor heating is amazing. Area is beautiful and the tea rooms next door are a must visit. We also had a lovely meal in The Ship but woukd recommend booking. Walks are amazing and we saw red deer!! Sophie is a wonderful host and her Mum was helpful too when we needed a scary lead for dvd. All in all a perfect weekend.

  • A lovely rural retreat. very comfortable, clean and great for dogs. You can hear the sea from the cottage and there is a fabulous pub close by. There is a tea room next door which has a great menu. Thoroughly recommend this cottage and host.

  • We had a lovely time at the Little Owl Cottage. The heated floor was decadent, the place is extremely spacious and it is a 7-minute walk to the beach. Super nice! Also, the tea room nearby is very neat for a tea or cake in between.

    Max2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to explore dunwich and Southwold, amongst the other villages close by. The accommodation is next door to a lovely tea room and nursery also owned by the hosts, who were so friendly and informative . There’s also the ship inn for dinner and the beach a 5 min walk away from the accommodation.

  • Spacious accommodation for 4 people, really dog friendly too with enclosed garden and fantastic location for long walks, bike rides and only a short walk to the beach, pub and a great tearoom next door too. We had a fantastic time.

  • The Little Owl is the nicest, most peaceful and tranquil air bnb we've stayed in. The location is fantastic if you love beautiful countryside and wildlife, we were lucky enough to see a barn owl in the field opposite 3 of the 4 nights we stayed which was amazing. The accommodation itself is lovely and much bigger then we expected! It's located at the of a 75 minute walk to Warbleswick and there are lots of other scenic local walks. It's also less than 5 minutes walk to the Ship Inn in Dunwich, which for years has been our favourite Suffolk pub, and a 5 minute walk to the beach. Would 100 % recommend and hope to return, and Sophie was really friendly and helpful too 😁

  • Great little cottage that was very well designed to make for a comfortable living space over our long weekend. Everything you need for a comfortable stay and close enough to the town for a nice stroll but far enough to feel like you are out of the way a bit. Would definitely come back again if we are staying in the area ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • Absolutely lovely place and just what we were hoping for. The house was beautifully done and very clean, with lots of special touches. Great location too. Couldn’t recommend it more for a ‘get away from it all’ break by the sea!

  • We had a fab stay at this location. It’s only 20-25 min drive to Southwold. Also found a fab pub 5 min walk (poss the white horse) where we had an amazing meal out! Very convenient- although given the bad phone signal in area we would have benefitted form some form of WiFi especially if we were staying for longer. The house was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. The only joint comment from the group was only having on sofa for 5 adults staying. We felt separated as people had to sit at the table etc. Otherwise- loved our stay! Thank you :)

  • Beautiful terrace house in the middle of Leiston. Walking distance to town centre which was very convenient. House it’s self have very homely finish and feeling. Could do with broadband and slightly bigger TV but that was not a big issue at all. Overall very happy with my stay, it was very pleasant 3 week of logging.

  • The bungalow was perfect for us with my elderly father in a wheelchair being all on one level with two en-suite rooms and our dogs with the enclosed garden. We couldn’t fault it for cleanliness, comfort, and amenities and location. There’s a good local pub, small grocery store and lovely common to walk the dogs. We would return as it’s s great base for exploring Suffolk.

Thorpeness is a village located just one mile north of Aldeburgh on the stunning Suffolk Heritage Coast. Developed as a private fantasy holiday village, Glen Ogilvie built the Country Club, golf course, tennis courts and an artificial lake called the ‘Meare’. The Meare has inspirations from J. M. Barrie’s work of Peter Pan and holds the annual Thorpeness Regatta where boat races are held during the day and a fantastic fireworks display can be seen at night. You won’t miss it whilst you are visiting the village! Aldeburgh is a town located by the River Alde on the stunning Suffolk Heritage Coast. It is famous for the annual Aldeburgh Festival, which takes place nearby at Snape Maltings – home to the renowned composer Benjamin Britten. Whilst in Aldeburgh, make sure you visit the life boat station, Moot Hall, Martello Tower, buy fresh fish from the huts on the beach and of course do not forget to try the famous fish and chip shop!

  • This is a small cottage but perfect for 2/3 people. The cottage was immaculately clean and was ideally located for Aldeburgh Main Street...about 10/15 minute walk. Parking is on the road and we always managed to find somewhere close to the house to park. There is a small Tesco and CO-OP at the end of the road for essentials.

  • Lovely house, close to the local supermarket and ten minutes from the High Street and beach. Walnut Cottage was spotless and comfortable. We loved the Sailors Path walk across the marshes to Snape Malting, and the friendly chat with people.

  • Lovely place to stay and could not fault anything

    Gary2019-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Walnut Cottage was clean, cosy and nicely furnished. It is ten minutes walk to the beach and High Street and not far from The Red House (which is worth a visit). We would recommend the local restaurants "The Lighthouse" and "Regatta" which are both excellent, as is the fish and chip shop on the High Street. The Aldeburgh Bookshop is also a must! Lots of places to visit such as Southwold, Walberswick and Dunwich. By the way, there is a Co-op close to the cottage which is handy for any extras that you might need!
