Places to stay in Salt Spring Island
Our cabin is located on a hill. It is private, has a full bath and kitchen with total privacy. You are close to ganges or you can walk to the yoga center. There is wifi, BBQ, fireplace, heat pump with air conditioning, wrap around deck and a sweetness that you might not want to leave.
It's like being in a nest
We love the location and how cozy it is.
  • As advertised a bright and comfortable little space to base your island adventure from. Great location close to everything you may need. Wouldn’t hesitate to visit again!

  • This sanctuary really is a happy nest! It met and exceeded our expectations in every regard. The bath, the wood stove, the location, the light, the privacy...everything was just perfect for a getaway for one or two! And Kathe and Bruce were very kind and responsive. We'll definitely be back. Note: a car is really an asset for this location, as while it would be possible to walk to Ganges, it's a bit of a ways and nice to be able to further explore the island. We found the location to be ideal.

  • A peaceful place to think, read, write, or just relax in nature with peace and quiet! We used the space for a 2 night thesis writing retreat. It was perfect! The wood burning stove and comfy bed were certainly a highlight! Would love to stay again.

  • My partner, doggo and I just spent the most serene and comfortable four nights at the Happinest! We felt right at home in the simple, rustic, and light-filled space, and were calmed by the dark and peaceful nights. The full kitchen, bathtub and laundry were much appreciated, and we enjoyed lots of incredible walks from Burgoyne Bay and on Mt Maxwell. We will definitely come again!!

Our 3 acre property is only a 25min. walk from Ganges. We nestled this clean and quaint cabin in its own cedar grove, separate from the main house. It was built with the style and feel of what we believe and love a home to be. With full breakfast.
Your cozy and quiet cabin for two has beautiful natural lighting with a pine ceiling, cork floor and a high bed, overstuffed with feathers and crisp white linens. A dozen steps along the covered cedar boardwalk you'll find the sweetest no-flush toilet with a sink in its own solar-powered outbuilding. Your outdoor cast iron claw foot tub and wash basin are fully plumbed with hot and cold water.
Bullock Creek Road is a collection of 3-acre homes tucked in a wooded pocket on the route from Long Harbour ferry terminal and only a 20 minute walk to Ganges. Our neighbours are quiet and friendly locals.
  • Wonderful space, tub was a highlight! Host was exceptional and gave us great recommendations and breakfast was tailored to our needs.

  • Tara's place is an amazing spot to get away to. We didn't have a car and found the walk to town beautiful and not too long. Breakfast was delicious and the window nook bed was awesome.

    Gabe2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Tara’s place was super great! We loved the room and the peace and quiet! The tub is super relaxing and a lovely activity to do. Breakfast was delicious and fresh! Would stay here again and will be sharing this place with friends!

  • One of the most magical and cozy places we've visited. From the convenient location to the delicious breakfasts. Absolutely loved our time here and will definitely be back!

  • Tara is an amazing host! She is very accommodating, quick to respond and serves up a terrific breakfast for you in the morning! I have stayed at other places on Salt spring and this is best spot hands down!

    Jonathan2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful, romantic, unique space in the woods. Just as described. Very private, comfortable bed and armchair by the fireplace, beautiful touches in decor and amenities. The bathroom is an unheated outhouse, but we didn't mind that at all. Breakfasts are stellar!

Spectacular oceanfront treehouse, where zen meets west coast. This newly built treehouse is the ultimate in glamping - the perfect opportunity to retreat into nature. Our private deck, kitchenette and day bed turned king bed allow for a cozy stay to watch eagles perch on nearby arbutus trees or seals bob their heads as they pass by. Relax on the private beach, scoop up some oysters for a snack or enjoy happy hour in the setting sun.
Summer time offers warmth and long nights, beach and water activities. The beach shower is in use in the summer. Winter time is cozy and offers a time of hibernation to read, paint, relax. When the daybed is extended to the king bed, it pretty much takes up most of the square footage in the treehouse. The bed will be be extended when you arrive, so if you want more space to move around, just fold up the mattress and push the day bed in until ready for use. Use of the owner's house is possible for a shower or bath if desired, otherwise the toilet 'out-tent' is there for use. A newly constructed bath house is just 25 steps from the treehouse and has a shower, toilet with a japanese bidet and stone sink from Bali. It is heated and has a covered patio. The cozy space consists of a bay window to sit & relax (although it can sleep one small person as well), a daybed turned king bed, and a small kitchenette. The kitchenette includes a mini fridge, dishes/utensils, cutting board, kettle, French coffee press, teapot, and complimentary tea & coffee. The fridge is stocked with granola, yogurt, and cream. There is no running water in the treehouse but has a water dispenser, basins and cloths. This quiet space is the ultimate retreat from the city. Glamping at its finest, you will be immersed in nature with only the essentials. A BBQ is available on the property. Pots, pans, tongs etc. may be requested for use with the BBQ. Sheets, linens, towels, beach towels are provided.
Close to the town of Ganges, just 5 minutes to shopping and far enough away that you are away from it all. Neigborhood is quiet. Beach is private and has only a few houses in the cove. The beach is full of oysters, and check the shellfish warning to ensure they are safe for consumption.
  • Would highly recommend booking this air bnb. It exceeded all expectations I had for our stay. We were welcomed by Dori to provide any information we needed for the area, along with fresh fruit, a personalized card & flowers. The tree house is bright & comfortable with an amazing view of ocean & access to the beach.

    Sophia2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Spectacular views, cozy space, incredibly fresh oysters shucked right on the beach, and a beautiful bathhouse with a fancy Toto + warmed seat that I now unfortunately never want to live without. Dori is the warmest and most hospitable of hosts and this was one of the most amazing AirBnB experiences I've ever had. 200% would recommend--I'd fly to Vancouver just stay here again.

    Meixi2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived to a surprise of fresh fruit, chocolate, a hand written, personalized card, & fresh cut flowers - a great addition! Our host Dori was great! The treehouse has everything necessary & many other great touches such as slippers, snacks, tea & incense. Would highly recommend.

    Melanie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a magical time in the treehouse! It was the perfect getaway. Drank some wine, made a bon fire at the beach and cozied up with a book. Recommend this stay!!

    Chantelle2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse is so cozy and the new bathhouse is spectacular!

    Trevor2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Dori went ABOVE and BEYOND with making ya feel so welcomed, she added personalized touches and provided 10/10 hospitality. The place was full of local goodies for us as well! There were even fresh flowers in the room and bathroom! The space is absolutely breathtaking and equipped with everything you need- a perfect, private and relaxing getAway with stunning views. We also were some of the first to try out the newly built shower and bathroom space, which was fantastic! You will not regret booking this space :)

Mid-island, this rustic cabin is perfect for any couple (or small group) shacking up in the woods. Features a full kitchen inside, outhouse, outdoor shower, fire pit, covered porch & access to pebble beach trails, making this a magical retreat.
This is a great little round cabin in the woods. You will sleep in the loft with a window that swings out and lets you breath in the forest. The kitchen has a small bar fridge, sink and two burner propane stove. There is a space heater in case it gets cold. The kitchen is stocked with basic dishes and pots and pans. There are floor to ceiling windows on one side that open right out and a sky light. There is also a basic pullout couch that can sleep two. The cabin is small but beautifully sweet. The cabin is 200sq feet. It is perfect for two people. If you bring 4 people, it will work and keeps the price lower, but be prepared to get cozy. Only bring people you like :-) There is also space for up to two vehicles to park.
We are located mid-island within a 20 minute walk of beautiful pebble beach (a great swimming beach) in one direction and a 20 minute walk to retreat cove cave and government dock in the other direction.
  • We loved this cabin - it had everything we needed and so much more. Also, don't underestimate how special it is to be connected to trail networks right outside your door. Would recommend to anyone looking for a spot to stay in the islands!

    Audrey2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Jennifer and Jack's with my three year old son, and we just loved it. My son didn't want to leave ("go back and sleep in the little cabin!!"). It's a small space but so well planned that it feels comfortable and roomy. There is also a lot of love and care in the small details - nice clean dishcloths right where you want them, big cozy towels, a large teapot, good stovetop coffee maker, nice dish soap in a beautiful bottle, warm comforters and great pillows - that made the experience very relaxing and small tasks pleasurable. It was about 2 degrees outside in the mornings, but the outdoor shower was surprisingly comfortable and the view into the woods unbeatable. Gorgeous property. Note that with young kids the pull-out couch is a good option (the loft was awesome but high) and quite comfortable. We really hope to stay here again the next time we're on the island! Thanks so much!

    Sarah2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect spot. Would definitely recommend. Thank you Jenn and Jack!

    Disa2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved the little cabin. It was cozy and rustic as other reviewers have said, but was exactly what we were looking for - a weekend in nature to disconnect and unwind. It’s also just the cutest place. It feels like a fairytale. We found the cabin had everything we needed, including plenty of thoughtful touches. The only thing we were missing was a standard frying pan for eggs in the morning, but we made do with what was there. We cooked a full dinner with no issues. The loft bed was a bit on the small side, but as two 6’ adults we had no trouble fitting and it was very cozy. I loved the window to the forest. The space heater kept the cabin warm enough (with sweaters and slippers) and the loft was always warm and cozy for bedtime. We had a great fire in the fire pit. The island was beautiful, with so many amazing things to see (we went to Pebble Beach, Montague Harbour, Retreat Cove caves, and the Bluffs). Their friendly kitty Fig paid us several visits which was a huge bonus. He/she was very cuddly and sweet and has the softest fur. Fig is able to get up on the roof, which I missed in earlier reviews, so don’t let that spook you! We only saw Jenn very briefly as we drove in, but we had everything we needed and appreciated the privacy. Thank you so much for having us!!

  • Don’t hover over the icon for this b&b... book it!!! Our checkin was smooth, easy and quick.... the directions were easy to follow as well. The house is literally out of a movie. It so tiny but packed with everything you will need for your stay. The best part was the outdoor shower, saw 2 deers grazing while I was showering😂 . Jen was, also helpful when my drone got stuck in the tree.

    Ruchi2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy, beautiful, and peaceful. A perfect getaway.

    Michael2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This cozy oasis in the forest is the absolute perfect spot to disconnect and decompress. This was my third stay. There's something completely magical about the patter of rain on the roof, the sigh of wind in the trees, and the croaking of frogs in the forest as you curl up with a mug of tea and a book or creative project... and being an easy walk from the seals, eagles, and waves of Pebble Beach is a wonderful bonus. Plus, Jennifer is the loveliest host! (I haven't met Jack yet.) If you are seeking a tranquil escape from the modern world and a place to enjoy some solitude and be present in nature, this place is for you. I just got home and I'm ready to go back!

  • Great location, everything was a quick drive. As per your suggestion, we went to the yoga studio up the street - it was so lovely! We also checked out a few of the other recommendations in the guest book, thanks for the suggestions! As for the actual space, it was really cozy and super clean. It was also nice to have the cereal, tea, coffee and almond milk in the morning! It's a really nice view to wake up to and the space itself was bigger than we expected. Overall we loved our stay here and would stay again. We definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay on Salt Spring island.

The view from the deck was incredible, loved how secluded we felt up in the trees. It’s in a great location, under ten minutes away from the heart of the island. Would stay again!

Continental BREAKFAST every morning is included. One of a kind swimming pool blasted out of native rock. Sea views from every window. We look forward to welcoming you to your own private suite attached to our home by the sea. We live near Duncan in the Cowichan Valley in the picturesque village of Maple Bay, on Southern Vancouver Island. Close to seaside towns, wineries, restaurants, a pub and pretty countryside;Duncan is 10 minutes away, and 1 hour from the capital city of B.C., Victoria.
The whole East wing of a one-in-a-million owner-built home in picturesque Maple Bay near Duncan on Vancouver Island . We have spent over forty six years creating our home, and now we would love to share it with you. We live in the 32 foot diameter geodesic dome and we will be more than happy to show you our part of the house. Your rooms are in the hexagonal addition. This is almost like a separate house and will be all yours and quite private and you have your own deck looking over the sea. Remember, this is an addition onto our house and as such is not a completely cut off and separate apartment. We love hosting Airbnb because we get to meet so many wonderful people. There is a connecting conservatory; this is where you have your breakfast, with a view out over the bay. There is a microwave oven, fridge, coffee maker and kettle; we provide a Continental breakfast of home made granola, croissants, home made jams, and yoghurt, and we will wash your dishes! (There are no other cooking facilities, but you can do a lot with a microwave and a toaster.) The door to our kitchen connects us to our guests so that we can serve the breakfast, clear the dishes and make sure that everybody is happy. On the lower floor is a pretty bedroom (with a queen-sized bed) looking out over a landscaped garden, with a view across the sea to Salt Spring Island. The morning sun comes up over the Salt Spring across the sea, and when the moon is up, it shines into the bedroom window. Next to the bedroom is the full private bathroom with shower. A hair drier is provided, as well as towels, soap, shampoo etc. An iron and ironing board is available. On the top floor is the living room, which doubles as a dance and art room, with a large open wooden floor, with a big screen T.V. and DVD player. High speed internet in all rooms at approx 500mbps download speed. 2.4 and 5g. We too love to travel, and have stayed in some wonderful homes through Airbnb; we are sure you will enjoy your visit to our house, and the friendly Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. We are within one hour's drive of the capital city of Victoria, and close to Duncan, Nanaimo, Cowichan Bay, Chemainus and its murals, Lake Cowichan and Salt Spring Island. (The ferry to Salt Spring is only 10 minutes away). The West Coast and Tofino are within reach on a long morning's drive. There are a dozen wineries in the Cowichan Valley and several golf-courses within a 20 minute drive. Kayaks are for rent in Maple Bay. There are whale-watching tours in Cowichan Bay (mention that you are staying with us and you will get a 10% discount), as well, the ancient lawn tennis club (est.1887), is about 12 minutes away. 5 minutes away is the wonderful Pacific Northwest Raptors where you can learn about beautiful birds of prey, from eagles to vultures, as they free fly in front of you. There are many hiking trails close by including a visit to the spectacular Kinsol Trestle in Shawnigan Lake, an old wooden railway trestle over a rushing river. There is a regular seaplane service flying in to Maple Bay; a quick 20 minutes from downtown Vancouver. There are also local public tennis courts just down the road. Maple Bay is a very quiet village about 8 kilometres from the local town of Duncan, the City of Totems. There is a bus service to Duncan. Deer on the lawn, racoons sneaking around at night, and even an otter has checked out our swimming pool! The house is on 2 1/2 acres and is surrounded by about an acre of landscaping; lawns and flowers and rockeries and the swimming pool; you can use it all. Behind the house is Maple Mountain Park and its hiking trails. A short 6 min.walk down to the local pub and tennis courts, or a short drive to excellent restaurants, several by the water where you can sit on the patio and watch the boats, others in town or at the wineries; a great choice from cosy and cheap to high end and classy! We look forward to meeting you! Please tell us a little about yourself. Airbnb verification and a nice photo of yourself is very important and a great help...... We teach Argentine tango locally; lessons are available in our house for $40 per hour. and a half. We love to introduce people to our passion for the REAL tango! The swimming pool, blasted out of the bedrock, is yours to enjoy and SHARE with us.(Unheated, but warmed by the sun, and normally not in use until May). It is mostly a natural rock pool and therefore has some underwater promontories...take care.
We've lived here in Maple Bay for over 45 years, and have traveled to most places on Vancouver Island, but we have never found a place where we would rather live; we think this is the prettiest area of all, and the little town of Duncan (10 minutes away) has all the facilities that we need. It is a short walk to Maple Bay beach and its Pub (The Lion Rampant), and there are other fine restaurants within a 15 minute drive, including the lovely Genoa Bay Café. Living on a very quiet dead-end street, with a beautiful view of the sheltered sea, gives us a wonderful peaceful life.
  • This is such a special spot, you should definitely go visit. John and Lina are extremely welcoming, and have fantastic stories about how they built their home. Very inspiring! They had lots of tips for the local area, which was very helpful. The stay itself was extremely comfortable, and the rooms are stunning. We very much enjoyed the breakfasts too!

    Georgia2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • 10/10 recommend staying at John and Linda’s place, its a MUST! Their home is beautifully built with amazing amazing views of the water and mountains, great decor indoors, plus cozy resort-like outdoor area with pool and gazebo. John and Linda were fantastic hosts with quick responses, easy check in and out, local tips, area with maps with things to see or do, fresh baked croissants in the morning, tour of their home, and their stories (like how they built the house themselves! With the trees they cut down on their lot! Amazing!) We only stayed for one night but wish we would have booked longer.

    Mikayla2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely perfect for our very first Airbnb experience. Friends had recommended the Amazing Dome to us as they enjoyed their stay so much and we were not disappointed as it was exactly how they described it. John and Linda were excellent hosts making us very welcome. We particularly liked the warm croissants for breakfast each morning. Very interesting and different property, beautiful bays to visit nearby, a good pub within walking distance serving good meals and a pleasant bar/restaurant at the nearby marina. Raptors nearby was enthralling, farmers market in Duncan really good and Chemainus worth a visit too, all suggested by John and Linda, thank you both for such a great visit.

    Patricia2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • John and Linda are superior hosts! We love talking with them, they are very nice and lots of interesting stories. Everything else are more than prefect.

    Betsy2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • The Amazing Dome is an extraordinary place to stay. John and Linda are wonderful hosts, so generous in their knowledge of the area. This may just be the very best place we have ever stayed in our travels. The views from the balcony overlooking Maple Bay are breathtaking.

    Wendy2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for only one night and it wasn’t enough!! It was an excellent night, though! It was very comfortable and filled with amazing artwork, most done by the host, Linda! From walking to the pub for an excellent dinner, sitting out by the pool with some drinks after, sleeping in a fabulous comfy bed, waking up to a lovely breakfast, to a morning swim in the pool, we couldn’t have asked for more! Definitely would stay again! John and Linda are super lovely!

  • Such a serene, relaxing gorgeous spot. We were celebrating our 20th anniversary and this was the perfect place to spend it. The views were spectacular. The place was light, open, airy and absolutely lovely. It was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. Anything you could need, from a tea kettle to a hot plate, to butter for toast and cream for your coffee was all available. We were needing a quiet spot and Kelley and Kent provided that and more. Fabulous hosts. We will be back in a heartbeat💜

  • A wonderful stay! This beautiful home will leave you feeling recharged and relaxed. The views are spectacular, and the beds very comfy. Kelley and Kent’s small touches made this place feel like home for a few nights. Very clean, and lovely baked goods on arrival.

A car is a must to get to this comfy, rustic, one bedroom cabin overlooking the forest. Gardens and ponds separate cabin (which is 100 feet) from our cottage. A separate path leads to cabin. Parking for 1 car only. Near to beaches, lakes, trails and Ruckle Park. Favorite hangouts nearby: eclectic Kizmit Galleria/coffee shop (open April thru November); also Salt Spring Cheese. We are in the quieter, rural part of the island. Lively Ganges is 20 min. away. Buy all your food and drink in Ganges.
This self catering cabin is ideal for two adults with one queen bed. Kitchen is complete with full electric stove, bar fridge, pots and crockery. There is a sink, shower, flush toilet. There is a comfy couch (double hide-a-bed) and gas fireplace in the small living room. Complimentary first breakfast basket includes: 4 fresh eggs (from the property's chooks), bagels, butter, jam, coffee, tea, cream and fruit. Big windows and private deck view the forest and gardens on this sunny southwest piece of paradise. We have Wifi but reception can be spotty or slow; this is the country. Cell phone coverage is very spotty on this island. It is good from here. The cabin and yard is not kiddie proofed. Sorry no dogs as there is a sheep farm next door and we have chickens.
The laid back charm, bird song and country quiet of south Salt Spring with its breath taking natural beauty provides healing calm in this increasingly hectic world. Explore this pristine west coast wilderness, only one hour from the city of Victoria. Ganges offers plenty of restaurants, galleries, live music, cultural events, as well as the famous Saturday market (April - October). The Salt Spring Island Market is known for its arts and crafts, as well as excellent food and local produce. The island boasts wineries, cideries, tennis courts, golf course, movie theatre and has an excellent marina....
  • We loved staying the this cozy cabin. We did a lot of hiking during our trip and it was the perfect base for that. We also cooked all our meals and the kitchen had all that we needed to do that. The property is also beautiful and Elaine and Wesley were great. We hope to make it back for a visit sometime soon!

    Nora2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Paradise. Wesley and Elaine's place was beautiful and had everything we needed. They were warm and hospitable hosts, and their place made for the perfect weekend getaway!!

    Krystal2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The place is beautiful, the perfect spot in the middle of the forest for a quiet stay. Wesley and Elaine were not home and yet they managed to book me super short notice. Everything was wonderful and the breakfast basket was a thoughtful touch. I 100% recommend this place for your stay in Salt Spring. I even saw deer in the morning. Felt so magical

    Lorena2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second stay in Wesley and Elaine's lovely cabin, and it was once again charming, cozy, and well-stocked for our time on Saltspring. Their communication was quick and helpful during check-in and when we had issues or questions during our stay despite being away from the island, and it was a true pleasure to have them as hosts.

    Amelia2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Booked last minute, Wesley and Elaine were out of town and they were still able to make it work. Wanted another night, last minute again. They made it work. Overall great experience, would recommend. Really great spot.

    Jordan2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I really enjoyed celebrating the New Year at this cute cabin that is nestled amongst the trees, and walking distance to private beaches. The cabin itself is very private and comes with everything you will need for a stay on Saltspring.

    Sara2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful cabin with all the amenities you need. Perfect location for walking to the beach and trails. Look forward to visiting again in the future!

    Danielle2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time at Wesley and Elaine’s cozy cabin on Salt Spring. It was a perfect place to find some quiet and we enjoyed all the little touches — breakfast with eggs from Wesley and Elaine’s chickens, Wesley’s artwork on the walls, and their friendly cat, Tyee, who wandered the property.

Welcome to our completely renovated 1985 Airstream Sovereign affectionately named "August". Ready for the real island experience? Some may know that we live alternatively around here. Add some whimsey to your getaway and enjoy this unique experience with a minimalistic/boho style.
Our Airstream is nestled among the trees in the corner of our property which slopes up and backs onto undeveloped woodlands. Our property offers a glimpse of the ocean and surrounding islands. You'll see float planes come and go and BC ferries passing in the distance. At 34ft long, the Airstream comes with a comfortable queen size bed and a cozy L-couch seating area with wood fireplace. We provide everything you need to light a fire. We designed the layout to be airy and bright, therefore there are no walls or doors separating the living from sleeping areas. We also do not provide window coverings for a minimalistic aesthetic and to allow the light in. The bed is made up with quality sheets, cozy down duvet and pillows. The couch is suitable for 1 to sleep on. Extra linens, pillows, and comforter are provided. The fully equipped kitchen has a 4 burner propane stove with a full size oven, a bar fridge with a small freezer, and a double sink with high quality, filtered, hot and cold drinking water. We’ve stocked the cupboards with dishes, pots, pans, French press, kettle, toaster, utensils and basic supplies including milk, butter, oil, balsamic vinegar, coffee, tea, sugar, honey, salt and pepper. There is a closet, a 3 drawer dresser, plenty of room in the kitchen cupboards, as well as extra storage room under the bed and couch. The space might be small but it's efficient! Your private heated bathroom is a short walk outside with sink, flushing toilet, and tiled shower with glass door. We supply towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, and hair dryer. There is a remote switch to light the path with string lights. We've provided a robe and an umbrella to make this walk more comfortable. We provide a parking space for one vehicle next to the Airstream. If you have additional vehicles or guests please park on the road and walk up the relatively short but steep driveway. Check-in 3 PM - 10 PM and check out by 11 AM Additional information: * LGBTQ+ friendly, come as you are! * There are no 24 hour stores, some places close as early as 5 PM. * We welcome babies and children provided you understand you're staying in a small space. Note: We do not provide a bath tub, crib/cot, or a gate around the wood stove. If you're coming in the colder months I highly recommend you come either with babe in arms or older child who understand how to stay safe around a fireplace. * Sorry, no pets, parties, or smoking on the property. * There is a pad lock on your front door for piece of mind. Security isn't as issue on Salt Spring however.
We are centrally located, 5 min drive to town where you'll find restaurants, cafes, retail stores, galleries, grocery stores, liquor stores, gas stations, kayak tour guilds, the farmers market, and more. Enjoy the ocean, lakes, hiking trails, wineries, brewery, cindery, distillery, and farms all within a 25 min drive.
  • It was an amazing experience staying at airstream. No complaint at all. Really thoughtful touches like the socks, bathrobe, milk, coffee, playing cards etc. We also saw two deer outside the airstream in the morning but didn't get a chance to meet the cat Mochi. Highly recommended to stay at airstream if you visit Salt Spring Island.

    Karen2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Zoe’s airstream is a dream! Such a cozy & clean spot, perfect for a getaway. We loved the wood burning stove so much. Zoe was a great host and had made several thoughtful touches as well which really added to the whole experience. Would definitely recommend staying here!

    Meghan2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable little weekend stay! Good location, right off the main road and quick drive to town. You definitely need to drive everywhere though, which I didn’t realize how big salt spring was! Chubby, friendly cat hung out by the airstream all weekend; I’m kind of obsessed with him. Went during February so it was still quite chilly and rainy, was nice to cuddle up at night and watch movies but thankful to have a second blanket for sure and the socks provided were life savers! Washroom is around the back of the airstream though, which would’ve been perfect in the spring/summer but less fun during the winter haha. All the kitchenware is amazing though, so cook away!

    Chloe2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for glamping or a couples retreat (without sacrificing too many basic necessities!). This place blew our expectations away! Much bigger than we expected, and perfect for a winter or summer getaway where you can disconnect from the city and technology and just enjoy some peace and quiet. Host was very thoughtful in her touches to the air stream, and even now we miss it! Would rent again in the summer no doubt about it.

    Christopher2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • ABSOLUTELY LOVED our stay at this spotless and cozy airstream, so close to town! Our favourite parts were: indoor fire stove!!!! new / full kitchen deep sink and modern setup plug in heater was a nice touch robe and socks (loved them) bed super comfortable with multiple sorts of pillows good coffee thoughtfully left food supplies (oils, butter, milk, coffee, teas) thoughtful supplies in full size bathroom, so sparkling clean hot water wonderful cozy reading space/couch with wood fireplace was great to hang out in lighting was great privacy wall & plant was great esp since no blinds plenty of wood and fire starter was thoughtful for multiday stay

    Julie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • August the Airstream was perfect for a weekend exploring Salt Spring. Zoë had thought of everything, the fire made the trailer nice and warm and there was plenty of space to stay in and make dinner. Would highly recommend!

    Fiona2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay at Zoë's place! It was very cozy spending the evening near the fireplace as the rain fell on the roof. Kitchen well equipped. Thoughtful touches like warm wool socks! Would return next time on Salt Spring!

    Connor2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Zoe’s place is amazing. It was even better than it appeared in the pictures. Very thoughtful touches and it has everything you need during the stay. One of the coolest places I’ve ever stayed. It’s in the same property as the house but there’s a big wooden wall for privacy. There’s even an outdoor table but because it was raining, I didn’t make use of the table outside. This place is about 6 min drive from the center so easy to get around and have access to everything you need. It’s quiet and very relaxing. Very stylish and sparkling clean. The bathroom is right around the corner and you can turn on the string lights. The wood burning stove inside is such a comfy touch. She provides everything and instruction to start a fire. Altogether, a perfect place to getaway for 1 or 2 people. The energy and vibe was just amazing.

  • Me and my girlfriend had a fantastic stay! The views from the room and patio are breathless and the fire and jacuzzi made this place the ideal getaway. The kitchen is also very well stocked with cooking essentials and the location is ideal for any place slabs activities.

    Juan2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Sanctuary is a gorgeous, glassy modernist structure, perched high on a forested hillside overlooking the harbour above the town of Ganges, on Saltspring Island. The interior of the house is spacious, with comfy furnishings and lovely eclectic decor. It feels like a house that is lived in by a well-loved uncle who happened to leave his guitar in the living room near the gas-burning fireplace, and his ukelele in the second bedroom with his model airplanes. In the morning, after watching the gorgeous sunrise out the picture windows of the living room, you might see deer grazing outside the window of the master bathroom. In the evening you can sit out on the deck with the sun declining behind you, and drink a glass of wine before you enjoy a soak in the Jacuzzi tub. West coast bliss.

    Kevin2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • An absolute must stay!! Kelly is so thoughtful and lovely. The house is far better than expected and we felt right at home upon arrival. The views are unbeatable and it's the perfect distance for exploring town or the mountains and meadows beyond Ganges. The fireplace is romantic and cozy, the jacuzzi tub amazing, and the mid century mountain top villa an experience not to miss. You don't even need to get out of bed in the morning. We sank into the silky sheets, coffee in band and watched the sun rise over the Islands in the distance as the boats in the Marina were painted with sunlight. We will 100% be making this our go-to vacation spot for year to come. Thank you so much Kelly!

  • This place is great. Close to town but very secluded. Very neat, tidy and clean. Sophie was a nice help with recommending a day hike and and extended conversation. Yum yum for Salt Spring Cider. Very nice stay.

  • Great private quiet retreat. We enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend this Airbnb location!

    Charlie2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • I can’t say enough good things about this space! My wife and I absolutely adored our time on Salt Spring Island, and felt it was made better because of this beautiful home. The check in process was so easy. It was very obvious to us that this is a space that Kelly takes great care of and puts a lot of thought into. It was cozy, and had a vintage style feel while also feeling very modern. We would absolutely come back again! And also the view is absolutely breath taking. Could have looked out the window all day

Our suite is located in a very quiet neighbourhood and is a 60 minute walk, or a 5 minute drive, to our island's main hub, Ganges. It works very well for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers. We are happy to have small dogs. Everything you need is available to you in our kitchen and our private 3 piece bathroom. We are a short walk to a swimming hole and a 4 minute drive to a popular beach. So much to do on SSI and when you are centrally located, it makes it so much easier.
The kitchen is equipped with a hot plate, toaster, kettle, coffee maker, microwave, and in the warmer months it's own barbeque. You will have a private bathroom which has a shower, sink, and toilet. TV and cable. Coffee and tea.

Our recently renovated cute and comfy lakefront studio is perfect for a romantic getaway. This studio is closest to the lake of all our cabins and has the best view of the lake.
  • We stayed in Cabin 12 which has a beautiful view of the lake. It was a great place to relax and unwind!

  • We throughly enjoyed our stay at Cabin 12! Such a chic, comfortable and cozy little cabin. It was perfect for our vacation! The complementary amenities (canoe, kayaks, ping pong and boardgames) was such a nice touch. We really enjoyed going out on the lake with the canoe. The host provided us great local tips for dining options. Overall the hospitality was above and beyond and would recommend it to anyone! Thank you Sven and Judy 🤗

    Kat2020-02-16T00:00:00Z

The open concept layout gives it a nice spacious feel and the contemporary style gives it that last finishing touch. The gas cooktop it a treat to cook with and you will find all the other essentials in the kitchen with the exception of a oven and microwave. While you're cooking or lounging on the deck you may be lucky enough spot some of our local deer or owls :)
Our neighbourhood is made up of large rural lots out in the country, although its only 10 minutes from town it feels like you could be miles from anyone.
  • We enjoyed our stay. Very quiet, private setting. Close to Ganges. Yurt was roomy and bed was comfortable.

  • We arrived on a late ferry on a pitch black foggy night. Laura's friendly voice on the other end of the line was such a comfort and she guided us safely to her amazing yurt. She went over and above by getting the fire started for us so when we arrived, all we had to do was stoke it a bit to get the place nice and toasty. There were three of us and we were all very comfortable. We cooked great food, read books, walked in the woods, took a quick trip into town to browse the market, and spent hours doing art by the warmth of the wood-stove. We listened to the rain, the ravens, the owls, and enjoyed the long stretches of perfect silence. Everything about our stay was perfect and I wouldn't change a thing.

    Emilie2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely incredible space and home, Such an amazing experience to stay in the yurt. Would definitely love to come back.

  • Whatever my hopes and expectations were to stay here, my experience far exceeded them! Clean, off grid, peaceful, everything I needed, the outside shower is AMAZING. Being able to shower and watch the beautiful forest around you is just amazing. It rained the entire time I was there and I love every minute of it, the sound of rain on the yurt is the most peaceful experience. Great communication, incredible experience. You must stay here!!!

Our Cedar Chalets feature a bedroom with a comfortable Queen bed. The loft has 3 or 4 single beds and a double sofa-bed in the living area. Each cabin has a bathroom with bath &/or shower, a well-stocked kitchen, TV & Wifi.
The kitchens are well-stocked just like a second home, with fridge, stove, microwave, toaster & coffeemaker (with filters) and all the dishes, pots and pans you might need to enjoy a home cooked meal. There are plenty of pillows & blankets, and towels for inside & outside use. Both chalets have large decks with umbrella tables overlooking the lake. Flat screen TV, a blue ray player for your DVD’s and a modem for wifi are provided in each cabin.
Welcome to Salt Spring Island! Salt Spring is the largest and best-known island of the Gulf Islands. Known for its largely unspoiled forests and beaches, Salt Spring is populated by free spirited, easy going, everyday folk who truly experience west coast living. Filled with wineries, hills, specialty food producers, coffee shops, spas, pottery shops, Barb’s Buns, the Tree House Café, and of course the Saturday Market – Salt Spring has lots to see and do. Mountains: Mt Erskine has almost 240 hectares of protected land with a variety of trails. It’s a fairly easy hike and once you react the top you won’t be disappointed by the view! On the way up, keep your eye out for fairy doors as the mountain is home to Erskine the Elf! Another great mountain to check out is Mt Maxwell as it is the tallest point on the island. By taking a turn on Rainbow road you are able to drive all the way up the mountain. Saturday Market: Take a trip into Ganges on a Saturday and you’ll come across the Saturday Market in Centennial Park. There are over 150 vendors who display their handmade or hand-grown products. On from April to October, rain or shine. Shopping: Of course you’ll find an array of shops in Ganges, but you can actually find shops all over the island. Many shops are right inside the owner/artist’s home. There are also a collection of shops by Fulford Harbour which is 20 minutes from Ganges. For a list of wineries, restaurant, water activities and other things to do check out http://www.saltspringtourism.com/ or stop in the office and someone will gladly tell you about all the fun things to do during your stay on the island.
  • My girlfriend and I had a very relaxing time at this beautiful place. Glen is very friendly and helpfull and know a lot about the island. Beside the lovely lake view and the nature, one also get the impression that this resort is well-organised and Glen responds quickly if you have any questions, etc. - Frederik & Meltem

    Frederik2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 2 nights in cabin #6, one of the loft chalets. LOVE the lake views from the living room and the big deck. The beds are really comfortable, even the little ones up in the loft. Even though the chalets do not have wood burning fireplaces, everything is super cozy and warm with the self controlled heating. The showers get hot. Make sure you take the free canoes/SUP out on the lake. It was a lovely morning paddling around before the rain came. My only negative notation is the kitchen is quite small and separated from the living space by a hallway. I wouldn't recommend making epic meals but for simple meals, you have everything you need except for oil/condiments,etc. Much appreciate the salt n pepper shakers on the dining table as we forgot to bring seasonings. The hot tub is tiny but super hot and great for 2-3 people.

  • A really nice and calm place to have a good rest. Perfect at the end of the winter with the firewood and the lake view.

  • Glen was a great host, very easy and quick with communication. It's a beautiful little spot in a wonderful piece of serene nature. We loved our stay.

  • Cusheon Lake resort is a special place. Warm, welcoming and friendly atmosphere and everyone is able to enjoy the magnificent views of the lake from their cottage. We were blown away by how beautiful the lake was, even in Feb, where it was admittedly, a bit too cold to go for a dip! But luckily we had the hot tub and we made use of that both nights. The location is pretty central to a lot of great places on SSI: Ruckle park, salt spring cheese, lower Ganges, and a pretty quick little trip from the long harbour. The three single beds upstairs were so cute, but also quite comfortable. The place was clean and we had access to everything we needed. If the airbnb listing is booked for your dates, check their website to book one of the other cabins! Thank you, Glen!

  • The cabin is located right by the lake with a gorgeous waterfront view. We used the space as a writing retreat and it worked just fine for us. We had a faucet that started to leak and Glen immediately sent someone over to fix it and offered us bottled water as well. I would stay here again!

  • Amazing cabins! Great hospitality! We will definetly be back!

  • We had a great time at Glen's place. The communication was super easy and quick and the place looks exactly like it does on the pictures. Location is very convenient and it’s very quiet! I found this place to be very clean, comfortable, and perfectly sized for two people. Would absolutely recommend to stay there!

    Marysol2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cabins were outstanding - clean, roomy, perfect for two. We really enjoyed our time kayaking, building fires, and exploring the island from the very central location! Can't wait to come back.

    Darko2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The cabins are perfect for a couple, family or group of friends. The location of the resort on Salt Spring Island is great and there are so many things to do and see that are just a short drive away. The resort is the perfect place to unwind, relax and connect to nature. Plus, we loved the hot tub and our canoe ride around the peaceful, calm lake. Glen was a wonderful host and we will definitely be back again.

    Janet2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had a lovely stay just before the busy long weekend. We almost had the entire resort to ourselves and made use of the cute hot tub and canoes for a gentle paddle around the lake. The log cabins were cozy and clean. Glen was very quick to respond to our msgs and helpful with tips. Highly recommend!

    Anita2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay; great cabins with a wood fire, convenient location and nice amenities. Will be back!

  • Amazing place, really great value and a great host with thoughtful touches like having the cabin heated for our arrival and lots of firewood to build a warm fire. Beautiful location and wonderful cabins - we'll be sure to come back again.

Stephanie provides some extra touches like coffee beans and grinder, some snacks and some toiletry essentials if you forget anything. A great place to stay.

    Debbie2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet, comfortable, well-equipped and impeccably-clean. Excellent communications. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

    Michele2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay. The unit had all the things that mattered: a comfortable bed, a great wood burning stove, and lovely views. Stephanie is a responsive host who brought us eggs from her own hens & ducks. Everything was spotless. This is not a fancy pants kind of place: it's a welcoming country suite, with great proximity to Ganges. A very relaxing stay on Salt Spring.

    Sonja2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing stay at Bluebell. The place was gorgeous and the little extra touches were great. The bed was so comfortable and the bathtub was a great treat! I didn't know there was a full kitchen as well which was an added bonus. I can't wait to come back again.

    Felicia2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • So cozy and just the right distance from town. Having the fire was perfect for our winter stay, we hope to be back!

    Colin2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie's place was magical and perfect for a one week stay of working on a musical composition. It snowed and they were lovely to provide wood and make sure we were warm and taken care of. Beautiful and inspiring spot for artists!

    Francesca2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Spotlessly clean and everything you need to relax and feel at home. Stephanie’s response time was not only lighting fast but caring and intuitive. The fire was already burning for a last minute arrival at 9:45 pm! Great yard for our two furry family members. Close to town and central to all of our exploring. Plus the nightly rate is very reasonable. We will stay there again! Thanks for a great three days!

  • I couldn't have picked a better place for my 4-legged companion and I! We felt at home right away, it was cozy, quiet, very private, immaculate, and perfectly located to explore the island! Everything we wished for and more!

~gst is included~ The tiny seaside sleeping cabin and bath house is very private with a double bed down and a single in the loft. There is also a desk, table, chairs and more. The private heated washroom is 20 steps away with a toilet, sink and large bathtub, and now it also has a mini fridge/hot plate/utensils so that you are not needing to come in to the farmhouse at all. The island is presently offering delivery for many food offerings.
a quiet private space to relax and plan your activities on Saltspring. This is a smart-metre-free environment....wireless connection is available outside but inside is wired only, providing corded connection. You may sleep better this way!
located in "West Ganges", the farm is tucked away in a tidal inlet where the evenings offer a quiet night's sleep. Guests can aim for all the popular spots from this central location. A moonlit canoe ride has become a favored activity with the magic of effervescence in the paddle strokes through the still waters of the inlet. Cyclists enjoy the convenient location, yet those on foot are best to consider the bus system to get around, or rent a car, moped, or bike.
  • THIS PLACE IS INCREDIBLE. Seriously. The most lovely place. You get to wake up beside the ocean, which is shallow enough to take a dip in either by moonlight or in the morning. There’s a big (super clean) bathtub in your private bathroom, big enough for two people to enjoy. The host is generous and lovely, and you can hang out in your little sleeping cottage or go into the farmhouse for a fireside hang, get some work done or prepare/eat a meal. There is a lot to explore on these beautiful grounds - we enjoyed feeding carrots to the horses, and seeing eagles and other birds. I can’t wait to stay here again.

    Kirby2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very beautiful, got to visit the chickens and horses, and have a gorgeous view on the morning. With the option of a lively canoe in the morning. Fresh breakfast is fantastic. Will stay again.

  • Quiet, peaceful, magical. Such a special place. Cozy sleeping area with comfortable beds. The water is right there making it feel like nature is tucking you in! The bathhouse with the natural light streaming through made for the best place to relax in the water. The perfect place to deeply relax and enjoy the experience of the island.

  • Great little place - perfect to have as a base for exploring Saltspring Island

    Larson2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Mary's place is great for a short stay on Salt Spring - the suite is very thoughtfully layed out (albeit slightly tight) and stocked with the essentials (including coffee and granola bars). The outdoor hot tub was a huge highlight and there were even robes for us to use before and after. The unit was very clean. Only glitch was the TV, we couldn't get it to work with the DVDs that were provided. However the WiFi was mostly strong enough to stream on our own devices. Not the best value if you consider the $30 cleaning fee after a $69 listing price per night. Still decent and overall would probably stay again.

  • Solace was the perfect place to spend a weekend getaway. There is nothing better than being able to sit in the hot tub while enjoying your private outdoor oasis. The sauna made for an excellent way to end the night. It was clean, relaxing, and a must visit!

  • If you’re looking for ultimate relaxation, this is the place! We spent one night at Solace Organic Spa Retreat for a post-holiday getaway and the experience was truly unique. This beautiful property is very clean, thoughtfully designed, tranquil and private. We enjoyed having exclusive access to the hot tub and sauna during our recent overnight stay. The entire experience was enhanced by use of the Bluetooth sound system, which can be heard throughout all of the spaces (in the sauna & outside at the hot tub!) The wood burning fireplace in the main room was perfect for a cozy fire on a cold January evening. The location is a 5 minute drive to/from the Fulford ferry terminal but a 15 minute drive into Ganges - I highly recommend having a car regardless of where you stay on Salt Spring Island to get around easily and make the most of your visit. Thank you to Ryan & Julie for a lovely stay!

    Ashley2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place for a weekend getaway! We loved sitting in the hot tub under the cool rain on a January night, enjoying a glass of wine in front of the fireplace and warming up after a day exploring in the sauna. There is no oven, but that's the perfect excuse to buy goat cheese and other nibbles at the nearby cheese factory and have a spread for dinner. Can't wait to come back.

    Nicholas2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely space! The hot tub was so nice and the bed was comfy.

  • Come here and plan to do the activities the next day. We LOVED our yoga in the morning. Sitting in the hot tub in the rain in the night was also bliss. It was a perfect end to our stay on Salt Spring. This is a funky comfy spot. It’s perfect for us but would not be great for anyone with mobility issues. We will definitely be back:)

  • I’ve stayed at a lot of Airbnb‘s and this place is pretty great. Michael & Callie have gone above and beyond to add lots of small touches to make the place a great getaway. The place is very well kept and exactly as described. There are cheaper places, but if you don’t mind being away from the town and paying a few extra fees, the view is totally worth it! We will definitely be returning.

    Darcy2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I stayed at the Grande Suite and it was a lovely and clean place. Michael and Callie took the time to make this suite very comfortable and pleasant. The communication between us was flawless and we loved the list of recommendations that they had for us. The suite was equipped with all the necessary kitchen accessories and equipment, including oil, salt/pepper, and coffee and tea. Their home is also pleasantly environmentally conscious with recycling, composting and even cleaning products being all-natural. The space is large enough for a couple and would be a perfect spot to stay as well during the summer to enjoy the outdoor patio and bbq. We would highly recommend their place to anyone! Thanks Michael and Callie!

    James2020-03-02T00:00:00Z

    Sarah2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Salt Spring Island is a lovely place. My husband and I were there over the Christmas holidays, and we loved how peaceful and tranquil it was. The ocean view from the Grand Suite was majestic, and we loved seeing the ravens fly by. It was nice to have a full kitchen since most places were closed for the holidays. Quiet and rejuvenating.

    Kathleen2019-12-26T00:00:00Z

  • This truly was a wonderful space, it was everything we hoped for and more. The views are breathtaking and it was just the right amount of solitude. The bed and pillows were so comfortable I didn't need to use mine from home!!! During our stay we were excited to come back every evening after our daily adventures and even more excited to have coffee watching the sunrise on the ocean in the mornings. We are already daydreaming of our next time back. Doug & Amber

  • Amazing place! Tema is very nice, helpful and accommodating. A must-stay if you’re visiting Salt Spring Island!

    Avery2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you, Tema, for the most relaxing weekend. The Airbnb was a phenomenal experience right from the start. Tema was very welcoming and kind when we checked in. She gave us all the info we needed for our stay. It really is a deep forest retreat that is romantic and secluded. My husband and I enjoyed the property, especially the incredible views to wake up to. The bath house and out house were a little intimidating at first (I’m a city girl), but was easy to get used to and created a very unique experience. Highly recommend for anyone who wants a bit of an off the grid experience and time to unwind and relax.

    Jessica2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and cozy retreat. Perfect place for a relaxing get away. Close enough to everything but also a very private location. Would definitely recommend a stay here!

    Barny2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Tema’s place is perfect for a solo retreat - a chance to get away from the city and quick pace of life. The space and location is so calming. You really feel like you are secluded in a calming forest. There is a beautiful trail and creek... at times it felt like I was in the middle of fern gully! It was the perfect mix of outdoor living with the comfort and warmth of a cozy bed at night. The outdoor bath was amazing (I was worried I might get cold but i didn’t ! I ended up using the outdoor bathtub almost every night). The compost toilet was also surprisingly clean and very comfortable. Tema was a great host - she was incredibly responsive with communication and things like refilling dish water, taking out garbage/compost and cleaning the compost toilet. She also supplied some of the best tasting bread I’ve ever had (it was homemade) and the selection of fruit was a great touch. I would definitely come again for a solo or couples retreat!

    Makeda2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • An unbelievable experience. Tema is kind and helpful and, besides our introduction and her showing us around, we were left completely alone. The cedar bath house is definitely the best feature - if you stay here make good use of it! Showering in the beautiful, rainy, old-growth forest was a check off of my bucket list. The property is everything you want it to be and the inside space was comfy and clean. I wish I lived here!

    Kayla2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Tema offers a private magical experience. This cozy cabin sits within her 5 acres of forested land, with a creek flowing below the front porch. In her separate bathhouse, which is open to nature, you can luxuriate in a big cast iron tub. Tema provides charming little touches like real, butter and jams in provincial ceramic dishware, and delicious local fruits and freshly baked bread - all organic! The internet connection is not too reliable, but in our case those issues can wait. Tema is friendly and helpful - there when you might need her. It was so nice to meet and chat with her. And our stay in her cabin will always be a happy memory!

  • The most relaxing spot to escape the big city for a few days. The cabin provided serenity- we had the best sleep we’ve had in a while. Location couldn’t be more beautiful- waking up in the middle of the forest to local bread, coffee and jam (such a lovely touch). Would come back again!

  • With a warm welcome from our host, Zsolt, (and his friendly cat) our stay was better than I expected. Armed with plenty of local knowledge and tips for our stay from our host, the accommodation is in a convenient spot not too far from both Fulford and Ganges, good for exploring. The little cabin was warm and the perfect size for us. I slept so well in the comfy bed the past two nights, would stay again.

Stay in our charming, private suite across the road from a lake on beautiful Salt Spring Island. Lakeside walks are just down the road. Forest walks and ocean beaches are only a short drive. The village of Ganges is an 8 minute drive away, with restaurants and cafes and many unique shops. Perfect for cyclists. Pets welcome by request only. Please contact us for details. The Wheelhouse Suite has double glass doors leading to both the sitting room and the bedroom flooding them with natural light. The decor is inspired by West coast Canadian nautical history. All linens including the duvet covers are laundered between guests. Please note that although the suite has wifi, it does not have a television.
We are located on a beautiful, quiet road, which runs for a kilometre beside a lake before ending in a private driveway. We are close to hiking, fresh and saltwater swimming and great dog walking trails. We are just a few minutes drive from the village of Ganges.

  • An absolutely beautiful suite for a Salt Spring Island getaway! The unit is exactly as shown in the pictures but even more cosy and comfortable than you can imagine. Gorgeous bed pillows and a down duvet to keep you cozy, one of the most comfortable beds we have ever had in an Airbnb. Well equipped kitchen although we were out exploring and didn’t have a chance to take it vantage of it. Ana and John were quick to respond to any of our inquiries and we’re open with recommendations for us to enjoy our weekend. There is a binder in the unit with extra suggestions where to explore. We will definitely be back, looking forward to enjoying the lake view from the French doors in the summer months!

For a list of wineries, restaurant, water activities and other things to do check out (URL HIDDEN) or stop in the office and someone will gladly tell you about all the fun things to do during your stay on the island.
  • This place is just perfect! Lovely!

    Jacinthe2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Cusheon Lake! We loved the view, the hot tub and the fire and even managed a (very) brief dip in the lake one morning. Easy to get to and any queries I had were quickly responded to before we arrived.

    Hannah2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay at Cusheon Lake! We loved the resort and all the amenities they had to offer, and found our cabin very cozy and comfortable. Stunning views of the lake, and very relaxing! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for somewhere peaceful to stay on Saltspring Island!

    Jillian2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a spectacular resort! We stayed in Cabin 1 and had a great view of the lake. It was wonderful waking up every morning and having a cup of coffee on the front deck, watching the sun rise and the ducks and geese out on the water. The cabin was very clean upon arrival and they even let us check in early because we needed to drop off our luggage before we could pick up our friends from the ferry. Every day our firewood was stocked up at no charge so we had ample wood for having a fire at night. The beds were surprisingly very comfortable and there was more than enough space for all of our luggage and a portable crib for our baby. The kitchen, albeit a bit tight on counter space, was adequately stocked with pots and pans; more than enough to get by for a week or two. It was a real treat being able to take a canoe out on the water. Most resorts make you pay extra for renting recreational equipment, but here it's all included. If we had stayed in the summer, we would have definitely used the paddle boards and the kayaks available as well. We did also make use of the hot tub which was very clean and easily accessible. In addition to all of the great amenities that this resort offers, the staff had great recommendations on where to eat and places to visit on the island. We had a fantastic time and expect to make Cusheon Lake Resort an annual trip!

  • Lovely and very kid friendly. Canoes, swings, a lovely lake.

    Jocelyn2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely rustic cabins for a fairly good deal. Definitely worth a stay.

    Jeremy2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing place. I have come with both friends and family on several occasions and have had the best experience every time. Great for hanging out with friends, cooking in, and if you want to have a nice cabin to spend time with family. Glen is amazing and is very accomodating. I would recommend Cusheon Lake Resort to anyone!

    Selena2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Cusheon Lake! Cabin 13 was spacious, with tons of amenities like a full kitchen, bathtub, fireplace, and so many extra towels and pillows you will never want to leave. We loved waking up to the quiet lake in the morning and hanging in the hot tub in the evening. The resort had lots of other fun things like board games, canoes, life jackets, outdoor grilling areas, etc, tho we didn't get to avail them since our stay was short. This is one of those rare places that is great for all kinds of guests (couples, families, friends, etc). Thank you so much to Glen, who was friendly and helpful, with lots of great local knowledge and suggestions!

  • Great experience. Close to the lake, free and thoughtful amenities that a family can enjoy such as canoes, kayaks, badminton court, table tennis, and outdoor bbq places. Woods for the fireplace was bottomless, necessary kitchen equipment was all there. Great communication, very welcoming hosts! Everything was set up perfectly for a short getaway but definitely recommended for longer trips :D

  • Judy and Sven’s property is so lovely ! Right by a beautiful lake and fully equipped with canoes and things for other water activities. The log cabins are very roomy and cozy. The kitchen is nicely equipped with pots/pans/dish ware you need to cook every meal while you’re there. Judy and Sven were also available on the property in the day to assist with any other needs or questions. Overall, highly recommend this airbnb for a gulf island getaway, suitable for couples, groups of friends, or families !

  • Judy and Sven were great hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay at their resort. Perfect place for a quick recharge, away from the city life. • This was such a lovely and relaxing place to spend a few days in the fall! We loved going out in the peddle boats on the lake, watching the baby deer walk past our cabin, and the privacy of the cabin in the woods. It was such a beautiful place and we can’t wait to be back again!!

We prepared all of our meals here with ease and it was a bonus to have drinkable water and a warm shower! Hosts were great and responded very quickly to additional needs.

  • We absolutely loved our stay at Shangri-la! When we arrived mid-afternoon the wood burning stove was already roaring and the house was warm and cozy. We really appreciated the location, quietness, cleanliness, and completeness of the kitchen and other accessories, as well as thoughtful extra touches such as good coffee, tea, and a coffee maker. Our bed was super comfortable and we slept like babies. Only biodegradable cleaning/washing products are allowed but these are all provided by the hosts. Loved seeing some friendly deer visiting the beautiful garden in the morning. We hope to be back one day!

  • A lovely long weekend getaway. Matty and Diana were clear and responsive - wonderful hosts through and through. The home was warm and cozy. I felt I had everything I could possibly need for a comfortable stay - a super kitchen, lovely fireplace, plenty of extra blankets, little touches such as a hot water bottle (for those of us who sleep with cold feet), dental floss, a game of scrabble, books, just to name a few. I'd love to stay again.

    Jess2019-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • My mom and I loved staying at Matty& Diana’s place! It was a very chilly weekend so it was nice to end our evenings curled up by the wood stove. We loved the retro green fridge and stove. It was easy to find and short drive to amenities. Overall we had a wonderful weekend and recommend it :)

  • Always a pleasure staying at the resort. Our first night was a little bumpy with a power outage just after arrival. Glenn was quick to come by and reassure us that power would be restored shortly. He supplied us with fresh water and some extra firewood. The resort is pretty quiet in the off season. Make sure to take the time to stop at the salt spring cidery as well as taking the climb up to Mt. Maxwell.

PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING: there is a loft space, with a ladder that has to be climbed. Not suitable for the very young or elderly. The mattresses in the loft are thin foam- nothing deluxe!! while I consider the kitchen stocked with what you need to prepared food, I do not supply foil saran salt pepper oils and such. Please bring anything you really want to be certain to have- rather than leaving a poor review. Thanks

  • Our Fourth stay and already planning our next visit. When my husband asked how I wanted to spend my birthday this year it was the first & only place I thought of! The weather was sunny & gorgeous....cold but great to come back from exploring, start a fire and get cozy with a good drink! It’s honestly the best cabin & location.....didn’t see another person our whole trip, complete privacy and solitude ❤️

  • Debra's studio is comfortable, light and warm. The layout and decoration give a feeling of casual sophistication and spaciousness even when the murphy bed is down. The kitchen and bathroom were well laid out with everything we needed. The view of the garden and ocean from the window are beautiful and there is a nice seating are in the garden. I would highly recommed staying here.

  • This place was a great space, it was homey and spacious for being a studio and the amenities were great. Its tucked out of the way of busy streets so its super quiet but still close enough to town that its not inconvienent. Especially loved the granola and juice they stock in the kitchen.

  • Debra's place was such a gem. It was so nice and cozy and the view of the ocean from the suite's front window made me feel so relaxed and peaceful. I loved the little touches that she has made for guests like homemade granola, fresh orange juice and happy hour snacks and beverages. :) The place looked just like the pictures and was very spotlessly clean. Would love to come back for another visit in the summer and be able to sit outside with some wine and enjoy the view!

    Salt Spring Island, BC, Canada

Perched on the side of the mountain, this spacious cabin has breathtaking views of Cowichan Estuary where you can follow the rhythms of the tides whilst watching eagles, herons and swans as well as the kayakers in Cowichan Bay. Duncan and the quaint village of Cowichan Bay are within a 10 minute drive, as are whale watching tours, kayaking, and golf. There are hiking trails and cycling routes practically at your doorstep.
Originally built as an artist's studio with open beam vaulted ceilings, the cabin is flooded with light and is cosy and comfortable. You'll enjoy the full kitchen, 4 piece bath, quiet bedroom, sitting and dining areas as well as south facing deck with dramatic views of the ocean and distant hills, and abundant bird life. It is nestled in a forest of Garry Oak, Arbutus, Maple and Fir, giving it that treehouse feel.
  • Perfection. What a nice view and extremely cozy cabin. We’ll be back without a doubt!

  • Absolutely incredible! Julie met us in the driveway as we pulled up and helped us get settled in. She had many wonderful local tips on hikes, restaurants, scenic drives and more. As for the house itself, you cant beat the view and the peace that comes with it. Whether you’re looking for great hikes or just snuggling by the fire, this is the perfect place! My husband and I will definitely be back!

  • If you are looking for peace and quiet in amongst nature this is the spot for you. The cabin is nested in the trees and overlooks the Cowichan River Estuary. The kitchen is well equipped if you like to prepare your own meals or there are several great places to eat in Cowichan Bay which is only 10 minutes away. Cozy up to the wood stove with a good book or check out the local hikes, you will leave rested and relaxed.

  • Had a wonderful time here! Incredible view and very peaceful. Julie is a great communicator, and was very accommodating as well. Stayed for 2 nights, but could easily stay for 3 to fully relax and unwind. This was a great way to escape the city and rejuvenate. Thanks Julie!

  • Julie is well-deserving of her super-host rating: we couldn’t have asked for a kinder host or more spectacular, tastefully-decorated and well-appointed accommodations. We look forward to visiting again soon to explore Chase Woods and the splendours of Cowichan! Special thanks for the eV-friendly charging cable!
