Places to stay in Rochester

Places to stay in Rochester
Sunny, 2 level apt, in rear of house, that is a short walk to the U of R with plenty of space/parking. One bedroom with lots of characters as well as a futon in the living room in restored mansion on Mt. Hope. There is a fully equiped kitchen, spiral staircase, and 1 and 1/2 baths. It has a separate entrance, and is approximately 1,000 square feet. Set on a peaceful acre of land along the Genesee River. Enjoy Rochester from this historic mansion with tons of character and charm.
Recently refurbished with new wood floors, cabinets, countertop and paint, yet still maintaining the character of what used to be the "servants quarters". It is PERFECT if you are visiting the U of R! We live in the rest of the house and are excited to have you stay! Note: It does have a narrow spiral staircase to the loft bedroom.. We also have another apartment listed on Airbnb, be sure to check it out! Apt #2. We do not charge an additional cleaning fee, as we think this should be included in the price.
We moved to this amazing house in September 2014 and have been working non-stop to restore some of it's original beauty. We are bordered by the U of R property and the U of R provost lives across the street! We are close to downtown and the South Wedge has lots of great eateries and pubs as well as a new microbrewery steps down the hill. Our house is on an acre of land overlooking the river and the U of R. We are 4 houses away from beautiful Mount Hope Cemetary.

This is a three room suite inside an 1850's Second Empire Victorian Mansion. It has a bed, tv, wifi, cable, microwave, coffee, dishes, etc. Bathroom has a shower and a claw foot tub.
The main room is spacious. There is lots of closet space and an area to eat. The bathroom has both a standing shower and a clawfoot tub. We stayed here as an Airbnb in the past and we loved it so much... we bought the house! This unit has AC!!!
Close to many things including the college.

I have lived in this neighborhood for 35 years and I notice something new every time I go for a walk. The homes are beautiful. The people are great. Dining, partying, museums, the river and the lake are all right here! No matter what a Rochestarian tells you, we Love our seasons, even Winter!
  • Maureen’s Airbnb is really cute! Lots of natural light, space, great amenities & bed is super comfy. Great neighborhood, beautiful homes on the block. She was was even very accommodating to my dog, Sophia! I strongly recommend Maureen’s space and will be back soon!

    David2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Maureen’s place was great! The apartment was clean and super dog friendly. We often have to check around at places we stay to make sure there isn’t anything our dogs might get into, but that was far from the case at here! Maureen was prepared with dog sheets for the couch and bed. We appreciated the snacks, water bottles and mini bagels that were available and Maureen was quick to respond with any questions we had. This is a great value and a great location, we hope to be able to stay in the future!

Our house is located in a cute neighborhood right next to Highland Park. The studio is located upstairs in our house. There is a side entry with stairs that lead directly to the studio and it is separated from rest of our house. We just finished remodeling the house so everything from the floors, appliances, sinks and shower are all new. We hope you enjoy your stay!
The space is a small studio located in the upstairs of our house. There is a side entry that leads directly to the stairs to the space. The kitchen is fully stocked to be able cook and eat meals there. In the living room is a TV stand with an electric fireplace to keep you warm during the cold Rochester winters. There is a Roku that has Netflix, HBO, and PlayStation Vue so you should always be able to find something to watch. We are close to everything. Just a 10 minute walk to the beautiful Highland Park. We are 2 miles from downtown Rochester, where the Strong Museum of Play is located. We are also only 2 miles to Strong Memorial Hospital. The airport is about a 10 minute drive.
We live in a very friendly neighborhood where you are sure to run into a neighbor walking about. There is a small park right down the street from our house. We are also just a block away from the beautiful Highland Park, a beautiful 140 acre park where the famous Lilac Festival is held every year. It’s a great place to get out and take a walk/run.

They have amazing touches too like pots and pans available, a keurig coffee maker with pods for you to use, and even popcorn available. I loved that this place had a heater with some faux flames too as well as a heater in the bathroom. Also, I loved that they let you use their Netflix and other streaming devices! I couldn’t believe what an incredible place this studio was! I highly highly recommend.

The size of the space is perfect for 2 people and we brought our large dog who was very comfortable as well. The fireplace/heater and heater in the bathroom were really nice touches. The space was modern and decorated nicely. Having access to the washer/dryer was also very helpful and plenty of space in the kitchen to make a meal if you needed to. We would definitely stay again the next time we are in Rochester!

  • Was a great place with a great location. Anya was super helpful. Beautiful place. Highly recommend.

    Gabby2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Anya’s studio apartment was everything I could’ve wanted in an AirBnb and more. At the last minute, I asked to check in a bit early and Anya was very accommodating in that. The apartment is stylish, has tons of amenities that other AirBnbs do not offer, and the bed was so comfortable. I had to check out a day early due to being sick, but I would stay in this apartment over and over again if I could. Incredible location, too! Highly, highly recommend.

    Jessica2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Super cute studio! I used Anya's place as a landing spot while apartment hunting in Rochester. Clear check-in and parking instructions. The studio was clean upon arrival and had all basic kitchen/bathroom needs. Easy drive to downtown and U of R and a binder of local tips was provided! You won't regret staying here.

    Molly2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Anya’s place is perfect! Super close to everything, sparkling clean, and totally homey!

  • Impeccable! This house gave me a huge boost to Rochester! Before check-in, the host sent us an email with a detailed description of everything related to the check-in. It was really caring! This room is exactly the same as the photo. It is modern, clean and comfortable. You can book him with complete confidence. If I return to Rochester, I will definitely choose this house again. There is a small shop 5-10 minutes walk. There is a sushi house next to the shop. It is good for Asians. I ’m here to take the Eastman test. It ’s a distance from school to a taxi. The communication with the landlord is also very smooth. The landlord is very caring. I really like this house so much! !! !!

  • It was a really nice experience as MacClurg's guest! I came to Rochester to visit my friend who's studying here. This was my first time visiting Rochester. My lovely host, MacClurg, as the first person I met here, left me a very nice impression of this city. MacClurg loves and is familiar with this city so much, she told me a lot of fun place here which my friend who's been living here for half a year doesn't know. (:D) BTW, the location is only 5 mins to Airport by a vehicle, or 35 mins by feet, I tried. Rochester is a nice and safe city where you may fall in love with. Don't forget to go to a free concert at Eastman Music School, I went to a Jazz show there, which was super nice and exciting! You may check the concert schedule with this website: https://www.esm.rochester.edu/theatre/

"Sparrow"...guest room offering twin beds and a restful night's sleep. ' Goldfinch' second guest room with a full size bed. Separate listings on Airbnb in Brighton for Sparrows Hollow and Goldfinch rooms. I share my home with many birds, wildlife and my 6 pet chickens.
This is a nice older home with original gumwood and leaded glass windows and many mature trees. There is an upstairs covered porch for relaxing in warm weather. When there is not a guest in Goldfinch you are welcome to use. It overlooks the chicken' s house so you can spy on the girls. Sparrow requires going up a number of stairs and there are three steps going into the house from outside also.
Quiet neighborhood w/ many trees and easy walk to areas where there are shops, restaurants, fed ex office, the Brighton library and Abbott's Custard shop.
  • Bonda is a kind, generous, lovely host. Her house is everything she describes, offering a rich, warm, eclectic experience. When next I visit Rochester, I'll try to stay at Sparrow's Hollow.

Its really the original purpose of Airbnb, and you can find with Bonda. Bed and breakfast. She even prepared coffee for me. We enjoyed our conversation a lot. The place is cozy and convenient. Highly recommended. And see you again Bonda!

Feel free to use the second downstairs kitchen for cooking and storing food. There is plenty of space to park in the driveway and feel free to ask me about local places and activities. Don’t hesitate to ask Alexa in the downstairs living room about the weather, local events and directions to where you want to go!

  • The suite, which is more like an apartment is one whole floor of the house and includes a full kitchen, beautiful living room with a sectional, large flat screen television and working gas fireplace. The full bathroom is off the bedroom. The pictures do not reflect how big your accommodations are. For example, there is a full kitchen in the suite and the home has a full kitchen on the ground floor. Yeah, it is big and comfortable. Loved the inquisitive personalities of the cats.

A private room with shared bath in a large comfortable 1900’s home. Full size bed and shared access to two half baths and both shower and tub. Also access to all common spaces in the home as well as hot tub year round and pool in season. Lots of parking and convenient to all major expressways for ease of getting around
Guests are free to use any shared areas in the home at any time. We only ask that they be mindful of loud noise during night hours (11 pm- 7am) as it is a home and others will be sleeping (at least I hope I am )
A five minute drive to Rochester General Hospital. Close to the Irondequoit Bay and the local amusement park. Irondequoit is also home to one of the oldest miniature golf courses in the United States, if old school entertainment is your thing. We are also about half an hour from a pretty cute drive in movie venue as well. Great for a summer night entertainment. Also a short distance to the walking/ biking path of Durand Eastman Park and the Ontario beach lakeshore. The park itself has several walking trails as well as a public golf course.
  • Jeanne's home in Irondequoit is stunningly beautiful. She was quite helpful and hospitable. Her place is a tremendous value. I'd recommend it to anyone!

One of my guests hosted a Christmas brunch for her college daughter and friends...
This is a residential street with big old trees, but within a 20 minute walk to ethnic restaurants and grocery stores.
  • Ellen is a very gracious hostess who tries to think of everything her guests will need. She has anything you'd need in the room which she keeps spotless. The bed was very comfortable and the space is large.

    Jesse2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Ellen’s place was perfectly located, it’s close to all the amazing food places and only 10-15 mins away from the airport in a quiet neighborhood. This was my second time staying at Ellen’s place, my first visit was so good that I’d to come back :) and I can’t wait to come back and stay again. Due to the winter storm, my travel became chaotic with delays but Ellen was very accommodating of that and I really appreciate it. Look no more if you’re thinking of a nice value for money place to stay at when visiting Rochester.

  • Lovely room in a lovely home hosted by a friendly welcoming couple. Comfortable bed assured restful nights. A quiet home in a quiet neighborhood. An easy drive by car to the Strong Memorial medical complex, the University of Rochester main campus, Highland Park, the Mt. Hope Cemetery, and the various cultural resources located in the general area of East Avenue. I would gladly stay there again for the duration of any visit to Rochester and recommend it highly to anyone planning a trip to the city.

    Robert2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Fatine and Christopher are amazing. They are super friendly and helpful. The house is located in a very quiet neighborhood and at the same time quite convenient. The room is well decorated. You can see from the tidiness how much time and effort they put into it. To conclude, this is perhaps the best place for you to stay if you are going to visit Rochester. Definitely 5 stars!

  • We have delightful time at Fatine and Christopher’s place. And defiantly come back during summer.

    Lee2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful stay. The hosts are kind and welcoming. Fatine was very gracious and I was grateful for the hot cup of tea before I went to bed. Coffee is displayed in a convenient area downstairs. They have a very nice washer and dryer in the basement that I took advantage of in the morning before I left. They have cute extra lighting on the steps to the upstairs ( motion activated accent string of lights) I think that is a very considerate touch. It is a nice clean home. It was 5 degrees outside while I was there and Christopher was very thoughtful, messaged asking if temperature was comfortable and adjusted. It was a comfortable place in a nice neighborhood. If it wasn’t so cold I would have walked to some local restaurants etc. there was plenty of parking on their street. Parking at local restaurants was a little challenging so give yourself time to find parking spots, or walk. It is a nice town and I will likely visit again. I will consider myself lucky if this location is available. Thank you for a comfy visit!

This is a quiet residential neighborhood just 3/4 mile from the beach. Your bed is made up as a king, but can be separated into two twin beds with advance notice. You'll find everything you need in the cozy room, and in your own bath next door. We love to visit over a simple breakfast of cereal and pastries, but we are happy to give you your own space, too. Rochester has a lot to offer and we love to tell you about it!
We have a private room with king bed (can be separated to form two single beds with advance notice) and you will have your own separate bath in our comfortable home near Lake Ontario beaches. Stay with us and enjoy our garden and quiet neighborhood, walk (about 3/4 mile) to the lake or the coffee shop (about 1 mile), or explore nearby Seabreeze Amusement Park in the summer. In the fall see the beautiful lakes and trees in nearby Durand Eastman Park. There you can play golf in the summer or go sledding or cross-country skiing in winter . Drive (or take the city bus) the short distance to downtown Rochester with its High Falls, historic buildings, and world-class museums like the George Eastman House (photography) and the Strong Museum (National Museum of Play) . And it is just a 1 or 1 1/2 hour drive to the Finger Lakes or Niagara Falls! We will fix you a light breakfast and you are welcome to use the kitchen, the rest of the house, (including the TV in the family room) and the free wi-fi. We will gladly direct you to some of the area's great restaurants (one of our favorites is the funky rib joint, Dinosaur Barbeque, in an old downtown train station). We know you'll enjoy Rochester and its surroundings! We do have a bird (cockatiel), and a cute new cocker spaniel named Murphy. Murphy is a 4 year old rescue dog who does not seem to interact with other dogs well and we will be going to training for that. He does love people, though! We hope you like animals!
We are in a section of Rochester called Irondequoit. The houses were built in the '40's and '50's. The area is very walkable and safe!
  • Linda and Dick are very welcoming hosts, inviting us to join them for breakfast and evenings by the fire. Dog and cockatoo were right in on the welcoming action, too. They are the type of people I would stop in to see if I was driving through the area in the future. Even though the room is right off the kitchen, they also provided as much space and privacy as desired. Private use of bathroom, space in the frig, and offer to do laundry. Ten minute walk to Lake Ontario and 15 min drive to downtown Rochester.

  • Linda and Dick are lovely hosts! The room was very clean and comfy and they were very welcoming.

  • Wonderful hospitality - really above and beyond.

  • Thank you for being such an outstanding super host. If I could rate everything out of 10 stars I would. We really enjoyed the continental breakfast, the lovely conversations that went with it and you’re beautiful dog Murphy.

    Cianna2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The highlight of our stay were the conversations with Linda and Dick. These folks are truly a rare gem, they opened up there home to us and shared valuable history facts and knowledge about the area. Murphy (dog) and tsunami (bird) were the icing on the cake.

    Quyen2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Linda and Dick were so kind and accommodating. They have a lovely home. We left feeling relaxed after sleeping in their very comfortable king bed! Unfortunately we had to leave in a hurry the next morning and missed the delicious breakfast spread they prepared. We would definitely stay here again.

    Wes2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Quite possibly the most humble and gracious couple I have met in the New England area. Wonderful people who live in a beautiful neighborhood.

    Tylor2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • These are some of the best people we met on our journey! They opened there home and welcomed us in like “second cousins”.

Beautiful basement fully renovated for guests.
Large basement with open floor plan. Bedroom has a queen size bed and a large dresser with lots of storage space. The living room area has a sofa bed and a smart TV, nice dining room table and a small, but complete, kitchen. The kitchen has a full size refrigerator, one burner electrical stove, keurig coffee maker with plenty of K cups of different flavors, microwave, crockpot, blender, kettle, mixer and all the cooking supplies you may need. There's also a very comfortable daybed and a large bathroom. Because it’s a basement the ceiling is a little lower, so if you are very tall you should consider that. We live in the house above the basement but you will have a private entrance. The basement has 7 windows and the bathroom also has a window. We have a 4 year old son and our house has old wood floors, although we try to keep him as quiet as possible in the mornings, you will probably hear us. If you are driving, there's plenty of parking in front of the house. From November to April there’s no parking allowed in the street from midnight to 9 am everyday because the city plows the streets. Guests are welcome to park on our driveway. Our driveway is long so it can fit many cars but it’s narrow. So we coordinate with guests who is leaving earlier in the morning to park last.
Quiet neighborhood with lots of trees. Less than 3 miles to the beach, the zoo and to parks like Durand Eastman Park.
  • Mariana’s place was great! She has everything you could possibly think of to make the stay better. Very cozy home in a great location. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone!

  • My mother and I were at Mariana's place and we couldn't have been better there. All this apartment was in perfect conditions, but what I would mostly highlight from our days in this place is how nice and helpful Mariana has been to us by her recommendations to eat and move through the town. Thank you so much! I wish we can come back to Rochester soon :)

    Irene2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Mariana's place was the perfect place for us, a family of four, to stay during our time in the Rochester area. Similar to what other reviewers shared, don't let the basement space deter you from staying there. It is wonderfully decorated, very clean, and my kids loved the extra touches Mariana has included like toys and providing us with a crib and baby bathtub. It is spacious, warm, and cozy with a cute little kitchen and a nice sized bathroom.

    Min2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Mariana is extremely quick to respond to any questions/concerns. The space is clean, neat, and full of amenities and thoughtful touches. Really enjoyed our stay. Great place to stay for a short or long visit!

Offering some low-frills accommodations here for easy-going travelers who just need a place to lay their heads. You get a bed, heat, hot water, sheets, blankets, and a roof over your head, plus access to the kitchen and two bathrooms. In other words, a great deal!
Over the past 10 years, we've hosted hundreds (thousands?) of travelers from all over the world. Our goal is to provide affordable accommodations for those on a tight budget, and we think you get a lot for the price. If you want to the Taj Mahal, keep looking. If you want a place to sleep that won't break the bank, this is it. We try to keep a pretty nice place, but please keep in mind these are budget accommodations. We think you'll be pleasantly surprised! =)
We love our neighborhood! It's close to several restaurants, convenience stores, and coffee shops. And it's a short bus/bike ride to the Eastman School of Music, George Eastman House, Modern Art Gallery, Downtown Rochester, Visual Studies Workshop, the Armory, the Auditorium Theater, and the Riverside Convention Center.

This 1920 home is on a tree lined street. The interior of the home is a mixture of modern and period decor. The Very best area of the city! Great bed frame, New mattress, new pillows and bedding. All sheets are white and go through a sanitize cycle when laundered. During cold weather, this queen bed has a dual control heated cotton mattress pad.
Large 1920 built Edwardian House - warm and friendly atmosphere. Several areas of the house have gone through an update/renovation. The listing bedroom comfortably fits 1 or 2 guests. There is ample parking. An oscillating fan comes standard in the room. The neighborhood has larger, well kept, century old homes. Streets in this area are tree lined. Quick access, just beyond the neighborhood, to shopping and popular restaurants. The expressway is a few blocks away.
The houses in this area were all built in the early 1900's. Every property on the street has at least one tree in the front yard and many trees are close to 100 years old. The street is extra wide, which gives it a feeling of spaciousness. The area is quiet and in my opinion it's also very safe.

  • If you are in Rochester and If you dont stay at this place. Hmmm. Too bad. Abed the guy who takes care of the property is very friendly and will go out of his way to make sure you are comfortable. Joe the owner of the property is kind. The place is brilliant. Yes if you expect 5 star property like hotels you wont get it here but if you want homely feeling this is awesome. Special note for Indians, They have a jet in toilet. I know right!!??? I am travelling again in December and this Is where I am staying

  • There were some issues with my stay, and I ended up moving after one night....but, the issues were not with the host, but with other guests! I think this would been a fine little spot otherwise. The host was great, responded quickly, and was gracious with the blankets! I appreciate his help, and I hope that things go better in the future.

    Gretchen2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • The room was small and simple, but I liked that. The location is solid as far as I was able to tell after a few days in town, which is to say, it's a quick Uber or drive to anywhere you're likely to need or want to go. No AC, but to my understanding, it's a rare day when you'd need it in Rochester; I didn't. And the big punchline: it's a very good deal compared to the hotels around. If you want a simple option on the cheaper side, you've found it

    Adrian2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic option for the low budget traveller! Nothing fancy here, but after staying in 2 different rooms in 2 of Rochostel's homes, I will definitely be back in the future. If travellingduring the summermonths be prepared for no A/C if you're used to tha. Both rooms had fans and I slept well each night. The kitchen spaces had most of everything I needed to prepare meals and the hots even invited me for pot luck dinners. I hope to attend one next time!

  • Came to Rochester for a workshop at VSW, which is about a 25 minute walk away. House is easy to get to on foot, bus, or bike and is in a friendly neighbourhood. Felt very welcomed–Sunday brunch was great and all the check-ins throughout the week were appreciated. Would recommend this place to anyone looking to meet some great folks in Rochester.

Strong and easily accessible wi-fi, tips and guides of local attractions, and convenient parking were very much appreciated. Ana is a superhost in every way. I will certainly stay again and will recommend to all my friends who visit the Rochester area and seek a high-quality and high-value place to call home base.

  • Ana’s provides exactly what the listing describes in a cozy, super clean bedroom with a spacious closet. The shared bathroom with spacious shower was sparkling clean. Ana and her friends were friendly and warm; they encouraged me to make myself at home. And it’s the only Airbnb I’ve ever stayed at in the winter months and not been freezing cold the whole time! I’ll hopefully stay again since it’s right down the street from my family. ¡Muchas gracias!

My place is close to restaurants and dining, family-friendly activities, public transport, and nightlife. You’ll love my place because of the neighborhood, the comfy bed, and the ambiance. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids). and big groups (we have FOUR completely independent rooms with all amenities each). Think of a mini Hotel thats complete self serve like Yotel NYC.
Our place is quite unique in that we are in a great location and the spaces are easy to access, easy to get out and about and enjoy Rochester's food, art and entertainment scene all while being close to the heart of downtown. I can say with certainty that our approach to the Airbnb experience is unique and we think you're gonna love it!
We are right in the middle of the very best of Rochester, walking distance from the major museums, arts and entertainment, the convention center in a five min drive, East Ave is beautiful to walk, ride or bike, the Neighborhood of the Arts is right here and we have the best of the food experience with dozens of great places to choose from and most are walking distance.
  • Stylish, clean, and comfortable, including all the necessary amenities. Great location. Check in was smooth, and John was very quick to respond to any questions I had during my stay. Was in town for a conference, and my colleagues who stayed at the conference hotel were all jealous of the cute place I got at such a bargain! If I ever find myself back in Rochester, I will definitely stay here again!

The place was very clean, cute and comfy. I can see the walls being thin if you are staying in or resting early. We had no issue with this as we were out late. Great place to lay your head and freshen up. Was just sad there was no shampoo, but no big deal!

Funky, 3rd Floor, two room studio in historic neighborhood nestled between two exciting cultural districts, Park Avenue and the Neighborhood of the Arts. The bedroom/bath is on one side of a common hallway and the kitchen on the other. The kitchen across the hall is for the exclusive use of the tenant at "36 Steps".
  • I travel to Rochester for work frequently and have stayed in a handful of different AirBnB's around town. Taking into account cost, location, privacy, parking, and functionality of the space- I found this to be the best AirBnB I have stayed in for a 5 day work trip. It really feels like your own temporary apartment. It seems a little quirky that the kitchen is across a common hall but it never was an issue for me. Planning to stay here again on future work trips.

  • I stayed in this apartment for a three month work trip and could not have been happier. I didn’t have a car during my trip and didn’t need one thanks to its full kitchen, onsite laundry, and central location just a short walking distance away from several bus lines, a grocery store, museums, bars and restaurants - so short in fact I could do it comfortably even in the snow. Mike and Margot were excellent hosts, always just a short message away when needed but also allowing lots of privacy. The property is well maintained and in a beautiful neighborhood. I’d stay here 10 times over, and was sad to leave!

Stay in style in the heart of Park Ave, one of Rochester's best-known neighborhoods for strolling & shopping in an urban environment. This freshly renovated studio apartment offers all the modern comforts & conveniences. Enjoy a cup of coffee while you watch Netflix or browse the web using our fast wifi. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, check out one of many cafes, coffee shops, bars, & restaurants that are literally steps away. Close to 490/590, airport, downtown, many colleges/universities.
This apartment was just completely remodeled. Everything in here is brand new and we hope it has everything you might need. The bed is queen size. Kitchen has stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher. We tried to include all the kitchen supplies one might need to make a quick meal. We have a Keurig and provide k cups. We also have a toaster oven and a tea pot. If you have a question on something in particular, don't hesitate to ask. We also have a washer and dryer right in the unit. We do provide laundry detergent and dishwasher pods.
Park Avenue is lined with specialty shops, small businesses of every description, and local restaurants and cafes that extend onto the sidewalks during the summer months. Neighborhood residents enjoy convenient access to daily necessities. Right on the Avenue are banks, salons, a pharmacy, bakeries, florist, bars, coffee shops, a veterinarian, a mailing/copy. Each August the Park Avenue Merchants Association hosts one of the oldest neighborhood festivals in the city, the Park Avenue Summer Art Festival, and each December rings in the holidays with the Park Avenue Holiday Open House. All along Park Avenue and down its side streets are handsome homes of all shapes and sizes— single-family houses, beautiful brick apartment buildings, and converted multi-unit dwellings. From sprawling Tudor mansions to modest Princess Anne cottages, from the stately apartments to elaborate Queen Anne homesteads, nearly every block of the neighborhood holds historic treasures. Both sides of Park Avenue feature pocket parks, graceful flower-filled medians, and spectacular tree-lined streets. It is located within walking distance to the popular East Avenue district which is one of the most popular areas for nightlife in Rochester. Park Avenue also is within walking distance to many historic landmarks such as the George Eastman House, Memorial Art Gallery, Rochester Museum and Science Center, and Village Gate. The Park Avenue neighborhood is also host to one of the most popular summer festivals in all of Rochester, the Park Avenue Summer Art Festival.

This 1890's house in the south wedge is 5 minutes to downtown, U of R, and Strong and Highland hospitals and ten minutes from the airport and RIT. The freshly renovated second floor has two bedrooms, and a brand new kitchen and bathroom. The apartment gets great natural light and the second bedroom has an adorable balcony with a view to the back yard. A 10 minute walk brings you to the heart of the south wedge where there are shops, restaurants, bars and a grocery.
The apartment has a separate entrance on the side of the house, just steps from the two available off street parking spots. The kitchen is ready to go and has everything you may need to cook your own meals during your stay if you choose. There is super fast fiber optic wi-fi available, along with a roku device on the tv for you to use your streaming services. While I've chosen not to have a fully inclusive "pets allowed" policy, I have a dog myself so I understand the need for them to tag along at times. I am open to discuss pet requests and accept or deny them them on a case by case basis. An additional 25$ cleaning fee will apply.
  • Beautiful, cozy, bohemian apartment! Super close to the airport and freeway. Great breweries and restaurants nearby.

  • Barbara's house is a beautifully decorated spot with a functional kitchen and great location. The location + off-street parking made for such a convenient stay. Hanna was an awesome host: appropriately communicative and left us a personal note to make us feel welcome and offered her help if there was anything we needed (there wasn't - she already thought of everything!). We had a cozy, relaxed stay and enjoyed the selection of teas provided. The kitchen had all the essentials for us to cook a few meals. The desk in the bedroom was a convenient touch. We would stay here again without hesitation.

  • Simply the coziest location in all of south wedge. Hanna always provides the sweetest touches for local tips and treats. Her kitchen amenities are all you’ll need to whip yourself up those healthy eats. My favorite location to stay while in Rochester.

  • Absolutely loved the space. Conveniently located and a short drive to local restaurants and museums. Hanna left us snacks and drinks, which made a welcoming space for our three year old. Would definitely stay with Hanna again !!
